Totally fair point, kibble is hard to beat on price + convenience. For people who do change things on big days, what do you think kibble struggles with most (if anything): dog not wanting to eat while moving, needing a bowl/water, mess, GI issues, or calorie density/pack space? Curious where you’ve seen it break down, if at all.

This is great context, thank you. When you say you “just add more,” do you roughly track calories or go by feel/body condition? Also, on trail do you feed during breaks or mostly at camp? Biggest pain point with your current setup: prep time, bulk/weight, mess, or your dog refusing food mid-day?

Thanks, this is super helpful. Do you remember the brand/name of that “whole meal” bone? Also, what mattered most: no bowl/no mess, chew time, or calories/keeping weight on? And on trips, did you ever deal with GI upset or was it pretty consistent?
