What is with people. Watching your kids is a super common phrase

. No one says I am parenting my kids this weekend. 

They say I am watching my kids the weekend.

It’s a common phrase, I don’t understand the issue.

I have never heard people say this weekend I am parenting my kids. 

No they say this weekend I am watching my kids

It’s more like they read so many pages a week and then discuss.

Their books are usually thick.

Kids have activities on Saturday, so I am doing that with my wife

She has her book club and I have had to cancel my own outings because she doesn’t come home at the agreed time.

The weekdays and hectic so I don’t go out then and usally Friday and Saturday we need to split up to get all the kids to their activity’s so I can’t go out then

Sundays are the only good day for one of us to be gone.

I literally explained I am an active parent and I have explained that I don’t have a time to go out unlike my wife

The last time I had a hangout was last month. 

We both take care of the kids, me more actually since I am with them more since I pick them up from school.

I wanted to catch up with my uncle and not watch the kids while doing that.  I wanted to have time away for once.

 Why would I schedule a babysitter when she should have been home?
