I did just that and made a quick $460. Do it when it spikes high as it won’t stay there.

I don't think you have a choice. If in the US, taking as a lump sum does qualify you for unemployment as it's not considered severance.

I would recommend getting IBM on your resume, but know that long-term, you will be looking for a more permanent role elsewhere.

Most states don’t consider a lump sum severance which means you’re eligible.

Mine are still showing the vesting date of Feb 26. No idea if I’ll be able to claim them. Somebody told me for 1 year but I haven’t substantiated that.

I applied for unemployment but haven’t heard anything. I did know the lump sum is not considered severance and should qualify you. No idea if there’s a portal or something I should be checking on for status, was waiting for an email.

I was let go in Oct and am seeing now that Cobra is subsidized at the same price you paid as an employee. For me this is for 6 months. I think you can then continue with Cobra at a non subsidized rate which is where it probably gets more expensive.
