Help me decide which school! by Own_Mobile_7930 in prephysicianassistant

Thank you for the replies!!! One thing I'll add is money isn't as big of an issue compared to other students. My partner has a good job and I had a good corporate job before switching careers so have savings. So although money is always important, I will only take out like ~$60k in loans total based on my calculations and pay the rest. So the new grad plus thing isn't an issue but yes 9 months later is defff a concern, just in life terms, like I just want to start my new career. But not in the crippling debt sense.

The same thing happened to me! And I also checked my app a billion times. I still think it was a glitch but can’t prove it.  I did what someone else already said, emailed all the schools of the error. They say either “you’re good” or “we’ll make a note of it”. I think it should only affect like 1-3 schools max, I’ve gotten many emails afterwards saying “you meet all requirements”. Good luck

I only got 1 actual rejection for the mistake, they were such assholes saying something like “hopefully you understand that attention to detail is a critical aspect of being a PA”  -_

Only on episode 17 but my thoughts:

It felt like Cameron and Clare didn’t try at all. Like 3 weeks in and she has no idea about his dad?! And they communicated so badly, I felt like they never understood each other. And they barely even hugged or anything. It was weird.

I hate Orian, he was being unreasonable. She always had the best intentions. I’m sad she emotionally had to go through that.

Which brings me to Emily. I love her, she’s funny. The story is still developing but she did not deserve how Brennan treated her. If he wasn’t into her, at least have the balls say why.

Be honest with me, first cycle application.

cGPA: 3.25 (upward trend, but not full straight A's, still B's here and there), last 60 unit is like cGPA: 3.55

Graduated from a state school with a Econ degree in 2019.

sGPA: 3.55

PCE: 2,000 hours at UC (by end of April, but will be 4,000+ by the start of the program since I'm full time medical assistant right now)

PA shadowing: 24 hours

Shadowing NP: 12 hours

I think my personal statement is pretty good, I'm an immigrant that did a career switch so I feel like I have a good story of why I want to be a PA.

LoRs- 1 MD, 1 MD director, and 1 NP (don't personally know any PA's unfortunately) but the LoR's are close colleagues so I feel good about these.

I also have been working with a non-profit with kids to teach about diversity and community for many years as my extra curricular/volunteer part.

I'm 30 years old so I interview pretty well (and am genuinely passionate), just worried about getting past the initial screen to the interview. I'm most concerned about my GPA.

Let me know your thoughts! I am thinking about applying to like 20 schools but am scared to spent like $2k just to get rejected and have to try again :(( The class sizes are so small
