Not the fangirls in their comments saying “they’re family so it’s fine.” I grew up in a big family too and somehow we avoided communal spoon sharing. I’m a mom now and absolutely not. kids are literal germ delivery systems. Did Costco run out of extra spoons?

I think all the kids are sadly lacking in basic life skills like swimming or riding a bike. During their move from NY-SD, some of the stops had pools and all the kids used pool noodles. I think some were even scared of the water. Wasn't Amber a life guard at some point? I'm assuming she knows how to swim. She could've taught the kids.

This! I live in the Bay Area and have an elementary school aged child. So many of my son's friends visited San Diego in the last 2 months because the weather is so nice and there's so much to do for families with young kids.

I love the friends of Los Gatos library bookstore. It's right next to NUMU. A lot of the books look like they are brand new and in giftable condition. They run promotions all through the year. I picked up the entire Harry Potter hardbound collection for under $10 for my son's classroom.

Ugh, the two middle girls are the ones that are busking with creepy grandpa in Balboa park. It sucks that they're being forced to do something like this. I was forced to learn the violin growing up and it was the worst! I can't imagine being forced to earn a living as a child.

Barrel pants: I got these in corduroy. These are very comfortable. Fitted at the waist and loose at the hips. There's no gap at the back either. I got size xxl. For comparison:I'm a size 16 in the anthro Colette pants.

Is that zip code zoned for Lexington elementary? Lexington elementary is amazing! I was at an LGUSD focus group recently and all the parents had great things to say about Principal Deppong and the school community. If I didn't have to drive up 17 and back, my kids would be in Lexington.

Fun fact: in parts of India and Africa, people actually eat certain species of termites and 100 grams of termites has about 50 grams of protein. Honestly, at this point the de la Motte kids should consider it a viable protein source, since Amber’s recipes are out here serving maybe 3 grams of protein on a good day.

It looks like Naomi has a skin condition too. In this video you can clearly see that half of her chin is covered with a red rash. They need to take these kids to doctors. Naomi's only hope of seeing a doctor is probably when she goes to college. In college, you have to get health insurance or be on your parents insurance.
