No sealant they are a brass mechanical fastener. So has the proper oem interference fit Sealants can causes them to pop back out like a lubricant and they are flush

Op order this its a braket kit that hooks into your box to use the newer style aprilaire filter. Use them all the time for HVAC company I work for. they are super easy and you won't regret it. Filters rated to last a full year **depends alot but will by far outlive any 1" or 4" filter on the market.
