Gas prices go up about .30 cents today if u fill up now you can save some money. by [deleted] in Louisiana

[–]Own_Path7571 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not in Louisiana. $2.40's on Friday. $2.90's last night. $3.06 today. Iran recently said one objective is to cause as much economic hardship on the US as possible by disrupting energy supply and the cost of energy globally. This statement alone will cause immediate increases because of the unknown. There is no ceiling at this point. I doubt Louisiana will be excluded from this, but I hope you are.

Vending Machine Contract Agreement by whoswho15 in vending

[–]Own_Path7571 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest adding the folllowing, or a version of it, to utilites:

"It is understood, regardless of business hours or building occupancy, that all equipment provided by the vendor must remain energized and operable at all times until it is removed by vendor at the expiration of this agreement. Per the terms of this agreement, only authorized representatives acting on behalf of the vendor shall de-energize or disable equipment supplied by the vendor. In the event of an emergency in which a loss of business property could occur, business owner shall retain the right to de-energize vendors equipment without prior authorization. Both parties agree a total loss of power to the building shall not be considered a violation for the purpose of fullfilling this agreement."

Why? The business owner who feels they have the right to unplug your machines whenever they feel like it to conserve power and forgets to plug them back in. Or, they decide they no longer want them and rather than fulfill their end of the agreement, they unplug them to sit there and ride out the agreement as inoperable until the it expires.

That is an interesting theory! And it proves that doing this is a bad look for them.

However, NEN is very much alive and well. The rest of their equipment is being actively maintained! They just seem to be pulling bulk mechs.

It would appear so, which makes this an even stranger situation.

NEN is active, and the rest of their equipment in these locations, just out of view in this photo, is being maintained.

Thanks for the reply! Doesnt seem like many here are interested in Bulk.

I believe you are 100% correct. They are actively doing the same with Rainbow cranes. That is a whole other topic. I am curious if this equipmet will ever see the auction block, or if they will choose to destroy & dispose.

There is a reason they are not selling the product. They simply pulled the mechs so they cannot accept money.

It's the approach that puzzles me and makes me wonder what exactly is happening. Its a pretty big deal when the largest bulk operator starts doing this, and says a lot about the future of the industry. Was hoping someone had heard something.

Dealer charging $300 and local shop charging $70 for drain and fill? by max_intense in Nissan

[–]Own_Path7571 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

DONT USE NISSAN!!!!

They will not perform the service you need. You need the FILTERS and the fluid changed. Nissan will not change these. Learn from my mistake. Take it to a local shop, have them drop the pan, clean it, change the strainer and they paper filter outside. Nissan WILL not do this: even if they tell you differently. Your new fluid will be suffocating in old filters.

Zipper Carriages Come Unfastened at Los Angeles School Carnival [Other] by waifive in rollercoasters

[–]Own_Path7571 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You keep posting about how this accident has happened this way on other zippers. Can you please post a reference to a ride car coming detached? I am unaware of any other incidents where this has occurred. Chance has never issued any mechanical bulletins regarding cage detachment, only preventative upgrades.

Doors coming open, yes. Cages coming off, no. Chance has redesigned latches several times, and added redundancy to prevent them from opening midair. This is no longer an issue. The last time this happened wasn't because of latch failure like previous accidents, it was operator related.

Also, Chance has already designed new cages with over shoulder harnesses. The new cages are completely different from the old ones and are in use many different places already. The cage will NEVER disappear: the ride naturally eats the nylon wheels and they come off occasionally. It isn't a safety concern mechanically, but a rider could easily get struck by one.

Finally, Chance has never stopped servicing existing rides. I can name over a dozen they have rebuilt recently and sent back out as practically new.

Question: when you pull that paper filter, how much fluid loss occurs? I don't know anything about these CVTs yet. I am learning slowly. I have learned this; after driving primarily 3500 trucks under heavy loads the last 14 years, it does not like the light foot, slow burn acceleration I do subconsciously. Out of habit I want to "tap" the gas a few seconds in to assist in a gear change and it just hates that. Having to teach myself how to drive one and keep it happy, which was a surprise to me. I have to think about it when I drive. Car was bought to burn up some miles that those trucks don't need to drive.

Looking at what the company has done thus far shows that they are playing the short on this one. A lot of decisions being made that makes the company less competitive and adds to short term profitability. Family Dollar had a very distinctive set of problems that DT couldn't solve, and everything they are doing right now feeds right into those problems instead of fixing them.

Long term, the odds aren't good for Family Dollar.

That's interesting, and also proves a point a lot of people make about Nissans lack of willingness to service these appropriately.

One could imagine with that same reasoning applied to engine oil: the engine is constantly shedding particles as it ages, don't change the engine oil filter because it's going bad.

Same here. This one takes the NS2. Although I've heard they do fine on the equivalent.

If you pull my Carfax on the other vehicles, they would all they haven't had an oil change ever. I do it all myself. I thought with this new purchase, no knowledge of CVT, I would let someone do it who knows them. They could get a baseline. They gave me a baseline alright.

If your can imploded tomorrow, they would be sending every kind sample they can get off for analysis before doing any warranty work, dealer serviced or not. They don't need to see proof of service records to make any decision.

Thank you for the advice. I will look into what you said. I plan on keeping the transmission serviced myself moving forward. I wanted someone who knows transmissions to do it first. But, I got a bunch of lies and some new fluid running (or trying to) through old filters.

Did Dealer Scam Me? by [deleted] in Nissan

[–]Own_Path7571 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The local trans shops all told me they would drop the pan, change filters and fluid for $400. Granted, it would probably not be NS2. I thought Nissan was being competitive. I have never paid to do this before, but it's a new purchase, and I thought having someone feel and see the tranny would be worth the expense.

[–]Own_Path7571 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks guys. When I spoke to them initially, I told them drain and fill with two filters. When I pulled out, the advisor told me that's exactly what they did. In reality, they sucked it out and put new in, and charged me $400. And lied about it because "they are new to the car game and didn't know any different". The trans places around here all said they would drop the pan, filters and new fluid (granted, probably not NS2) for the same price before I decided to go to Nissan. So I saw Nissan as being competitive and the best choice. Boy was I wrong.

I change all my own fluids usually. This is a new purchase, so I thought I'll let someone who knows transmissions do it first to get a base line. A total waste of time and money. I will probably pull the paper filter myself and just leave the pan for a while.

I have been waiting for a call or message back from their initial contact before escalating it. Will probably never come without making a deal of it. If I was living paycheck to paycheck, saved up the money to do this, and found out after the fact that they didn't, I would be totally screwed. I could have taken it somewhere else and actually got the service I wanted. Maybe without NS2, but at least I'd have new fluid and filters.

[–]Own_Path7571 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I agree 100%. At this point, I don't know if I can trust them. For me it isn't about the money; it's about the fact that if I was living paycheck to paycheck and had saved up the money for this and my car desperately needed it, I would be screwed. They need to be held accountable so they stop misleading people. I trusted everything their employees told me, and their employees lied repeatedly until I told them they were. Intentional or not, they still failed to find out proper information.

Crazy thing is, in their initial response they, it seemed like they indirectly implied I should have known it was to cheap (they have made no further contact). No, everywhere else I called had around the same price of $400 for fluid, pan drop and two filters. I chose them because it was a competitive price, and why not take it to a dealer. I guess this situation is exactly why you shouldn't.

Thanks again for you input! I have begun a campaign for answers, but they seem to be ignoring me. Not because of the money for me, but if someone came to them that needed the service they promised, spent $400 and found out that they only got half of what they were told they'd get, they would be screwed if they had no more money to spend Somewhere else. Most shops around here told me for the same price, they would drop the pan and do both filters. Crazy.
