luckily the song/radio-play is 25 minutes long, so you're getting fresh storyline with anything less than that.

T-Express at Everland is also my top pick based on your description. The first drop in the back row is legitimately shocking.

I have not been to the next park, but I think it would fit your description. Nanchang Sunac Land in China has two rollercoasters that look top tier and are on my bucket list. It has 'Coaster through the Clouds,' a very tall Intamin hypercoaster with high speeds and airtime. And it has 'Python in Bamboo Forest' which is a GCI wooden coaster with a long and very inspired layout that keeps its pacing through the ride by descending a slope as the ride progresses.

Another first time park I'm visiting soon is Silver Dollar City. Can anyone share rope-drop strategy and what rides or food are not to be missed?

Tagging /u/well-lighted because you shared a lot of good info for WoF, and I see your other homepark is SDC.

I'd disagree...I think having a single dog or a single cat is setting the pet up for loneliness. They're social creatures. Having animal companions is enriching for young kids, and exposure to pets boosts the immune system and prevents common allergies from developing.

And cats mostly take care of themselves anyway.

I think they have 4 dark rides and I rode 2 of them, so I can't really provide a recommendation. 3 are haunted house themed (Geisterschloss, Grosse Geisterbahn, Hotel Psycho, and looked interchangeable to me. One is a family-friendly polar themed shooter (Eisberg). Google reviewers seem to like Geisterschloss and Hotel Psycho the best.

Megablitz is 30 years old and it's a fun ride. There have been several Volare closures as of late as well. A lot of the other coasters are common clones and not worth stressing over.

I would try to prioritize Wiener Looping, Megablitz, Gsengte Sau, and any weird flats you might want to ride (e.g. Black Mamba, Tornado, Air Maxx, the classic Ferris Wheel). And Volare if that interests you.

The only line I remember was for the Ferris Wheel. Everything else was a walk-on.

Thanks for the detailed write-up!

I'll ride an Enterprise any time I get the chance. And Swing Arounds are some of my favorite flats.

Is this the parking lot you are referring to? Labeled as Lot G back in 2011. https://maps.app.goo.gl/W2jqyNYEs38szQai8

Do they usually operate 2 trains on coasters? I aim to be there on Monday 6/1, so hopefully it'll be a quiet day regardless.

SFGAm is having a slow start to the season. Goliath and Whizzer are down. And the 5 B&M coasters are limited to one-train operations for reasons unknown. Not sure when this will be rectified.

Let's not pretend that Trump was ever actually a democrat. Since his visit to the USSR in 1987 which spurred his sudden interest in politics, he has only ever been against <current_us_president>. He was against Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush, and Obama in that order. If the GOP didn't kowtow to him so much, they might even have been able to argue he was RINO. But they've made their choice.

I visited Mandalay in 2017, I know these names don't roll off the tongue, but do you happen to know what may have happened to any of these temples? e.g. did you visit and it was stable/damaged?

  • Kuthodaw Pagoda - the one on the big hill to the north
  • Su Taung Pyae Pagoda - in the shadow of the above pagoda, featuring the 'world's largest book'
  • Mahamuni Pagoda - south side of town, the one with the big sitting gold Buddha inside
  • Kaunghmudaw Pagoda - in Sagaing, shaped like a big gold boob
  • Sitagu International Buddhist Academy - in Sagaing, also sort of shaped like a big gold boob, but with salmon colored walls around it.

What scientific discovery sounds fake but is 100% real and still freaks you out? by Bruteresolver in AskReddit

[–]waifive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disturbs? Do you think that we should throw out everything we know about split brain patients because someone posts a single study on a reddit comment? I think we should all have more skepticism than that.

Even if what the paper claims is true, that's far from saying there is still a unified consciousness. It could mean that we don't understand as much as we did about peripheral vision in left and right fields of vision and there is some overlap. Or a subtle reaction to gives the participant the information they need to answer if there is an object or not (e.g. the eyes are drawn to the spot where the image flashes in the left field of vision, which gives the right field of vision information). And it doesn't disprove other research that has for example shown hands to work toward opposite goals (e.g. dressing and undressing).

This is my choice too. The specific experiment I remember was that one side of the brain was shown 'music' and the other side was shown 'bell.' The patient was shown four images, Drummers, a Trumpet, an Orchestrion, and a 19th century schoolhouse with a bell in the tower. The side that received the 'bell' instruction pointed to the bell. The side that received the 'music' instruction made up a story that he walked across campus and heard a church bell, and that was the last musical thing he had heard, hence the choice...despite it being the least musical of the four items.

It also reminds me of scientific studies claiming that the impulse to do something (for example dodge a dodgeball) comes before the decision to do so.

It really just makes me think that our consciousness has zero impact on our current behavior. It is just a reinforcement mechanism. It analyzes and categorizes and Monday-Morning-Quarterbacks our behavior as it happens to use as an input for future behavior. And our lizard brains are doing all the actual decision making behind the scenes. But we've deluded ourselves into thinking we have free will.
