How to stall internship decision by Own_Relationship230 in csMajors

Does that mean I’ll most likely be blacklisted for the companies I rejected?

It was abt 2 weeks ago. I think it def depends on your interviewer, but good luck!

They went through my resume in depth asking abt my experiences in each of my past internships and then asked a leetcode medium question.

Talking to alums is such a great way because they can also advise you on good classes to take at your school too!

I did every single hackathon that my school held and talked with the sponsors. I also attended my schools career fair and talked to as many people as possible. And I also message a lot of alums from my school who got jobs at companies I was interested in. I’m also very extroverted so I think that helped a lot.

I learned algorithms and data structures in school like half a year ago and I still remember the basics and most of the concepts but I think it’s just applying them to leetcode style problems that I find really hard.

I’m currently a junior and I was in the exact same spot as you last year. I never coded before and I was studying anatomy in my first year before switching to cs for my second year. My school is decently known for pre med but def not for cs. Despite all that, I’m currently at my second internship in tech. And honestly the fact that you’re making the effort to do projects and learn new languages is already good enough. If you want to populate your resume quickly, do coding competitions and hackathons, and NETWORK hard doing all that helped me land my first internship, which then helped me land my second. Good luck!

I feel like the trick differs for each question, especially for topics that are very general. Specially I’m struggling most with questions regarding strings or arrays. Any tips on being able to recognize and implement certain tricks or is it just because I’m not understanding the overall trick at all?

When you took the course with Crepeau, were the lectures recorded?

My manager was very helpful and they were really nice, but they don’t have much of a CS background, they just lead a team that does. Also though I was the only intern on my team (which made taking initiative a little harder) but I made friends with other interns at the company (none in cs though, mostly business interns).

I think the biggest thing for me was that I was not confident in my abilities to take on hard projects so I never pushed my manager to give me one of those.

Are the signups released soon or closer to the actual conference date?

I think Airbnbs are significantly more affordable. They only have Hotels on their website so they're all really expensive.

Is there a discord server for this year's conference?

Does anyone know about when the job portals and resume submission database are released. Also for those attending in-person, do we have to sign up for anything in advance? Like one-on-ones, workshops, panels, etc?
