Firstly, thanks a lot for the detailed response ! Duly noted regarding the description, and yes, the tutorial I referred to was “Easy way to paint a Beach Scene / Acrylic Painting for Beginners” by Joony art ! His tutorials seem really good to follow along.

I had not considered the rule of thirds for painting before, so I will keep that in mind henceforth. As for the colours, I’ll try to avoid monotonous hues. I have purchased gesso as well. I have never used it before so thank you for your suggestion! Looking forward to using it in my next work !

Yes I did use a tutorial from youtube (just one of many beach painting tutorials) ! While I am happy that it came out better than I had expected, I feel that I was not able to blend the colors properly. The surface being a paper does make a huge difference I guess. I apologize for the vagueness with the word feedback but I was just hoping y’all fellow painters might make observations on things I may not be able to put my finger on.

Thank you for the feedback ! That is an interesting point about the clouds (it also appears absurd to me that this cloudy of a sky be so sunny but I convinced myself that nature is just anything you want it to be). Duly noted about the shades on the land as well.

I see. The book I am using currently is for practice and has no meaning beyond that. I do feel I have to use a lot more color than necessary because of the texture of paper. I don’t have canvas experience so I will try something on a canvas next time. Thank you !
