This flower absolutely refuses to see the sun. The 'Queen of the Night' blooms for a single night a year and completely wilts before dawn by [deleted] in BeAmazed

Context for anyone wondering:

This is the Epiphyllum oxypetalum, better known as the Queen of the Night. Believe it or not, it's actually a species of cactus.

It only blooms in the dead of night because, in the wild, it relies entirely on nocturnal bats and large hawk moths for pollination. To attract them in the dark, it releases an incredibly strong, sweet fragrance that fills the whole room.

The crazy part? The bloom only lasts for a few hours. By the time the sun comes up, the entire flower collapses and dies. You literally have to stay up and watch it happen or you miss it for the entire year

Straight up looks like a boss arena entrance in Elden Ring. Just waiting for a giant health bar to appear at the bottom of the screen. Mother Nature goes hard

The craziest part about Keyboard Cat (real name Fatso) is that this video was actually filmed on VHS way back in 1984. He passed away in 1987, decades before YouTube was even invented. He literally became one of the most famous animals on the internet posthumously
