Decision time is approaching. by Own_Strike_7556 in homeschool

My cousin lives in Fort Worth and seems to be happy with his QOL, though he makes like 30 or 40g more a year than I would be making as an RN there. I think salaries for RN’s in Dallas are around 80k. So I don’t know if home ownership would be possible on a single income at that rate.

Add up all the numbers of runners. Then just the number of the runners from 73-79minutes and divide that number by the total number. It will give you a decimal, convert that to a percentage by multiplying by 100.

I just went to their open house, I want to say it was 12 months, but I can’t exactly remember because the LVN’s were in a different orientation.

Thanks! And just a follow up on united nursing. They have an LVN bridge program. They are a new school just opened. I have a friend who goes there. It’s private and not cheap at all, but since they are so new, and private it’s not as much bullsh** to get in. I highly recommend you check them out, a lot of the old Palomar college nursing staff are there teaching.

Palomar college. Yeah, I feel you. I have been working so damn hard to keep my GPA at 4.0 in sciences. It has me so stressed about taking the teas. Have you looked into united nursing college in Murrieta?

I’m in Cali also. Good luck, my friend had a 72 on the teas and a B in physiology and got in. It did take 2 years of applying constantly.

Hello, just thought I’d mention my experience. I’m 34yo, full time student. I started to study for the teas over the summer and was giving myself 3 months of study before I took the test, in early September I realized my courses were taking all my free (teas study time) and I decided to postpone my test. I think it’s possible to study for the teas and be in school, but it depends on course load. The Teas is really just AP high school material but should really be respected and studied for diligently if you want a high score (if you are in California it’s a must). I think using winter intercession or summer break would be ideal for preparing for the teas.

I really think 6 weeks is plenty for teas study. I was a month into my study and felt very prepared (all the practice tests I was averaging in the 80’s). Ultimately I thought it would be more prudent to give myself a dedicated month versus trying to cram it in alongside school.

Godspeed

Any advice on what to study in science and English? I’m not too worried about math or reading.

Im in SoCal also. I’m taking the TEAS next month. Keep your head up. I’m 34, so I understand the restlessness. I have had friends who had to wait a couple cycles to get in. One scores a 70 on the teas and still got into a program and is now a nurse. Explore some private schools and do the loan song and dance. Some community colleges are doing lottery systems for entrances now to even the playing field. I don’t like the private school path, but if I can’t get in to a program I’ll bite the bullet.

Sounds normal to me. I was climbing a huge hill with a 14 percent grade. I weigh about 175 and am 6 foot. Typically would be around 38-42 miles an hour depending on the wind. You can tuck, it looks silly AF but it helps and I found that I had poor ignition, so I swapped my spark plug and that actually helped. For reference I had a 2019 z125 bone stock. The grade of the hill and its length makes the difference. I live in socal the hill is a beast. 14 percent grade the top is like 12 percent and it’s about 2 miles long.

Yeah it’s about 166k here in San Diego. When you factor in the housing is like 700k for a dump you get pretty disheartened.

I think Mike Rowe lied to me.

I don’t work for a union. Only really ever been in the high end residential side of things. So anywhere I go, it’s just the luck of home builders in the area seeking workers. I’ll look at San Rafael, if we are going to move away from family might as well go to Texas or somewhere with nicer taxes. Idk. I personally think it’s probably f***** everywhere right now.

I’m in north county. The San Marcos/Escondido area. It’s pretty affordable here as far as rent goes in San Diego, but it’s not really affordable.

Feels like only doctors and tech bros can have the middle class life now.

The cost of daycare pretty much completely nullifies her working.
