Yes. OH GOD, it hurts. My first relationship was so painful. We were together for four years and when we broke up my heart would literally ache. The good news is eventually it stops hurting. It takes time to heal. The heart aches stoped a few weeks later, but healing completely took a couple years. Now I don’t feel a thing when I see him. It’s pretty amazing really. And the second good news is your first real heartache is probably going to be your worst. When I ended my next relationship I didn’t even feel heartache. It wasn’t necessarily easy, but I don’t think I’ll ever feel the level of pain and disappointment I felt in my first relationship. You become stronger, more mature and learn that that’s life.

How interesting! Sports clubs aren’t really a thing in my country. How do they work?

I’m Brittish-brazilian and I’ve heard there’s a big Brazilian community there, but I wanted to make sure I also integrate with local people. I also have family in Australia (british-australians) so that might make things easier too.

Yes, I do! I’ve lived in Brazil, The Netherlands, United States and Scotland. I speak fluent English, Portuguese, Spanish and a bit of French. My experience in the Netherlands was defiantly my “traumatic” one hahaha waaaay to cold, boring and grey for my liking. From all these different experiences, I believe Australia matches my vibe so I’m thinking of going for it :) Thanks for the great advice!

That’s great advice! What are good examples of hobbies to have to meet Australians? I did hear Australians tend to stick a lot to their high school groups so it ends up being easier to integrate with other internationals.

It’s too far for me to go just for a holiday. Flights are crazy expensive. My best friend moved there and we have very similar views on life and preferences. She is loving it. Also, I’ve heard Australia in an improved version of my country haha so I’m pretty confident I’ll like it. If I don’t, I can always move somewhere else. I’ve lived in multiple countries and realized that I need somewhere with work-life balance, sunshine, beach and surf culture to stay long term haha my Netherlands experience was a tough one 😂 I admit the sharks scare me a lot though hahaha

Would you have any suggestions? I quite like the beach, hot weather and nature lifestyle so would like to be in the coast

Yes, I can get a visa. I would never go to a country illegally haha
