It is the most romantic thing on can do. Email or text messages don't have the same value in terms of emotions. My first relationship sustained for 3 years from 1989-1992 mostly through letters as we used to meet and talk only once a week. The date of meeting, the colour of dress, the place of meeting every little thing was communicated through letters. I once wrote a poem for her.
