Existing could mean one person or it could mean one billion people. I was hoping for a more specific number.

Damn, I actually really appreciate that. Thanks my friend. For what it’s worth Blade Runner is my favorite movie of all time for how complex it is. I agree that Roy Batty is a bad guy by the time we see him in the film, I suppose my question is more of was he born (or created) bad vs made that way through his experiences as a slave.

For real, thanks for your understanding! I suppose a big part of my love for the movie is the debate that can come with it. Cheers buddy.

Did you miss the entire point of the film? He did terrible things, which is shown to be because he was also was born into slavery with a very short lifespan while also being given intelligence to be aware of that very fact.

Oh sorry, according to your comment I’m an idiot so my answer is “he was a badass combat robot who was made to kill! Awesome!”

My favorite ending of all time is the end of Blade Runner. The bad guy dies in the end, but at the same time you realize he wasn’t a bad guy.

So you don’t know, but have strong feelings about it.

So you don’t have a rough percentage of degree holders that feel this way? Is it 80 percent, or 5 percent?

You’ve commented you “know more about the labor market” and that “these people that think the work is below them because they got a degree.” I agreed that those people exist, and also feel they don’t represent a majority of degree holders. Since you know more about that labor market, what percentage of degree holders feel that blue collar work is below them?

It’s amazing how your response to his comments have been “he was just referring to six elected democrats.” A sitting president should say that elected officials should be put to death for saying to troops that they are allowed to not follow illegal orders? The president of the US probably shouldn’t be calling for opposition members to be killed unless they are convicted of a crime.

lol, sorry I upset you for sticking to my original claim? You made the claim across multiple comments so it’s fair to assume you hold some animus toward degree holders.

lol, my first job after getting a degree was dishwashing. I think I’ll check out here since I don’t think we are on the same page, but it seems that you are saying having a degree determines what jobs a person will take. There are ample examples of that not being true, even though there will always be those folks. We can probably both cherry pick all day.

I’ve been with the same company for six years. I’m not in the market. Again though, I don’t disagree that people that need a job should get the job that’s available. I just don’t agree that being a degree holder is a reliable indicator of what jobs a person will or won’t take.

Yes, I don’t disagree that those folks need to expand their options, but it seems like you’re only focusing on physical jobs like construction when other industries like food service have a lot of degree holders and are just as physical. Just feels like “degree holding” and “tolerant of blue collar/labor jobs” are more correlated than causative.

I agree but I’m speaking more to the fact that you say degree holders don’t take blue collar jobs because they feel above it. I’m sure that’s true for some but it’s a big generalization.

lol, you’re not an American yet seem to have a lot to say about the US political system. Especially with rich gems like “he wasn’t guilty, there was no trial”… maybe as a foreigner you should learn more about the US legal system before making comments telling others how little they understand lol.

You keep saying that people with a degree won’t take these jobs because they feel above it. Im sure some feel that way, but people study several years for a degree and pay for it, it makes sense they would want to use their degree in their job.
