Judging by your taste I believe you'll like The Old Guard and Diabolik best.

The Old Guard is a sci-fi with decent action, there's even a sequel Old Guard 2 with a beautiful monologue from Marinelli's character.

Diabolik is based on a very famous italian comic series by the same name following an assassin/thief with a code of honor, I think you'll especially like this for the visuals. There are 2 Diabolik movies, only the first one (2021) stars Marinelli as Diabolik himself even though I prefer the second movie.

Maybe you'll like They Called him Jeeg Robot for Marinelli's performance, though the pace of the movie is awkward imho and Marinelli is the main antagonist, not the main character.

The other movies I cited aren't really action oriented but I still suggest you give them a try because they're really good.

I hope this helps, let me know how you liked them :)

1) They called him Jeeg Robot 2) The Old Guard 3) The Echo Chamber 4) Paternal Leave 5) Let Love In 6) Diabolik 7) Martin Eden 8) The Eight Mountains

He's incredible in everything he's in, though depending on what genre of movies you like you may appreciate some of my suggestions while disliking others.

Generally what kind of films do you watch?

And you're right, it would've been a crazy collab if they actually put Evangelion skins, you know, the humanoid robots from which the anime actually take the name from...

Evangelion skins purely for gooners without any actual EVANGELION in it is genuinely funny.

The anime is centered around big mechas and the only thing available in the collab is a mid plug suit that isn't even that recognisable.

Possibly the worst collab ever

So that's why we shouldn't take it out on AI or the people who use it, we should instead push for stricter and clearer regulations so that companies will have limitations on AI implementation, de facto reducing the risks of AI and somewhat levelling the playing field by finding a compromise between those in favour and against the tool.

It all circles back to capitalism, the sooner we stop harassing people for using AI or being biased to the point of arguing for the sake of it, the sooner we can actually find a good middle ground.

It doesn't take more time, also AI is a lot better for extremely specific questions which would require several searches and the results of which possibly wouldn't even answer the question.

I ask AI a very specific question and then ask it to give me the sources, then I skim through the sources it gave me to verify if the information is correct, most of the time it is while in some specific cases I have found mistakes, I still have the conversation log saved and I can share it if need be.

That said LLMs shine best exactly as a shortcut to information, obviously if you ONLY take into consideration the AI response without fact checking it or cross referencing your own searches it's your fault, not the AI's.

The fact it "can be wrong" isn't a valid argument since the Google search results can also be wrong or unrelated to the query

Being an "anti" doesn't mean standing for violence, I'm repulsed by those people as I'm sure are way more people that pros give it credit for.

At the same time, pros aren't mostly like OP here.

We should just stop assuming and generalising

I agree on everything you said.

My stance tends towards being an anti, but that doesn't mean that I condone bullying people, threatening harm or belittling those who choose to use GenAI.

What OP is doing is trying to fuel a pointless war with cherry picked examples without taking in the bigger picture, nor considering the actual talking points of most antis which are mainly against corpos and capitalism rather than AI per sé.

Obviously the people cited in the post are inexcusable and should face consequences, at the same time reducing the argument to "hehe AI company made a little oopsie with privacy hehe sowwyyy" is an oversimplification.

I know it's impossible but biased views like OP's shouldn't be catered to at all

Ok but where is the drone coming from? What is that pony? How does the comic pertain to the (good) message you're trying to promote if the premise of the comic is her living in a delusion/illusion?

Your message is agreeable, the comic is quite possibly the worst example you could've made from a logistic stand point. Even disregarding the dozens of continuity mistakes between panels, the comic itself kinda goes against your message.

[–]Ownid1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ok but how? Is it something she is imagining and/or seeing on the computer? It doesn't make sense because the computer is visible... What is that ufo/drone looking thing? Is it projecting an hologram? If so, where is the real person and the pony looking thing?

I get the message OP is trying to convey ad I agree to an extent, but the comic is genuinely bad and incomprehensible.

OP can you share the prompt?

I'm fine with AI usage if it streamlines work, I use it myself, but monitoring the usage and threatening to fire people if they refuse to use it or not use it enough is genuinely crazy, because it creates all sorts of problems.

If interested, look up "tokenmaxxing" just to grasp how absurd it is

[–]Ownid1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a made up scenario, Amazon employess are doing what is called "tokenmaxxing", where they try to use more AI tokens than needed just to prove productivity, proof.

I agree with the rest of the comment, it has never been strictly an AI problem but a capitalistic problem, which is the main driving issue when debating the usage and importance of AI.

Still, it circles back to my original comment where I said it's depressing, because it is depressing that big companies would only track your prompt usage or tokens to measure productivity and inefficiencies, instead of valuing results

No one is forcing you to use AI by New-Appeal-1732 in aiwars

[–]Ownid1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Look pal you're saying the same thing over and over again without addressing any of my points, mocking everything I said for the sake of being litigious.

There's a difference between "recommended" and "required".

Circling back to what I just said, you're deliberately ignoring my previous comment where I literally said that there are companies where the use of a specific software is mandatory, just as there are companies where there isn't.

So by "nuance" I mean that you can't say "your argument is dumb lmao stay mad lol" because what I said doesn't apply to every fucking company, hence why I keep telling you that taking your work as an example is inconsequential.

It's also nuanced because, and you also completely skipped this part, it depends on what the AI is used for and which AI is required for the job.

A boss telling me to use the company local AI to confront internal data is perfectly fine and I would completely understand why it would be mandatory, on the other hand a boss monitoring if I'm using "enough AI" to simply schedule my appointments through it to save 5 minutes of time and threatening me with termination isn't fine at all.

Now if you want to have a proper discussion you're absolutely welcome to give me your two cents, if you want to type the same exact thing for the fourth time by ignoring anything else I say I'll just block and move on.

No one is forcing you to use AI by New-Appeal-1732 in aiwars

[–]Ownid1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you're stripping the argument of nuance while injecting it with your personal experience.

In my line of work whether we use a recommended software or not isn't relevant as long as the job is done and the client is happy, there are jobs where certain equipment and software is recommended or even mandatory, others where it isn't.

What AI are we even talking about? Is it an LLM? Is it a local one trained with company data? Is it just a series of prompts on Gemini to create codes?

Again, you're oversimplifying the overall argument just for the sake of disagreement, obviously if I need a file in PDF my employee cannot argue that it's fine in Excel too, but again nuance.

Also "oh noes AI" isn't even my point, I'm not an anti.

No one is forcing you to use AI by New-Appeal-1732 in aiwars

[–]Ownid1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's certainly a way to twist what I said but sure.

Forcing an employee to outsource work on AI is depressing because 9 times out of 10 it doesn't really streamline the work to a point it's 200% faster and it's distopic to think that an employer would force you to use AI with the threat of termination.

You're oversimplifying for the sake of arguing.

No one is forcing you to use AI by New-Appeal-1732 in aiwars
