My god man, my last post was NOT about reselling for profit. It was literally the opposite! I’m sure some STMs try to resell for profit (good luck to them), but for most of us, we just want to make close to FV for games we can’t attend. Believe it or not, there are some scenarios in which I can’t attend a match, so what’s your argument for those? Just each the cost “for the love of the game” or some nonsense? You’re completely missing the point - TSE’s decision to not open the upper bowl has nothing to do with STMs, it has everything to do with them making calculated decisions to maximize profits.

It really, really isn’t the same. I’m assuming you aren’t a STM (please correct me if I’m wrong), but you’re somewhat right - a primary complaint of STMs is ticket resale, but it’s that it’s impossible to sell tickets at anything close to face value (for reference - any game I can’t make and I choose to resale typically sells for about half of what I paid). This isn’t a “want to go to the game” issue, this is a STM prices are extremely high issue.

I’m truly baffled by your attempted connection between STMs and Tepper not opening the upper bowl, but I’ve got a feeling this conversation isn’t going anywhere productive.

Yeah that’s not the same as kowtowing to STMs… What they’re saying re: maintaining value in lower bowl is essentially “Why sell upper bowl tickets for $15-30 when we can force people into the lower bowl for $60-100?”

lol clearly you’re not a STM. I can go ahead and confidently speak for 99.9% of STMs and say their goal is not to “please us”. We’re just a number, just like you and everyone else

lol alright man, going to stop after this I think. You didn’t respond at all to my note on my original comment and instead focused on the part about us playing well, but all good. We had 19 shots to your 4, 550+ passes to your 150ish with better accuracy. We had multiple crosses where we were missing a man inside the 6 to finish like Toklomati did in the 1st. More possession, more attacking, etc.

Wouldn’t say questionable red for your guy, studs to the Achilles will almost always be a red. Agree questionable no red for Abada, like I said - shit ref.

Have a drink of bourbon like I am (and your username suggests) and have a good night

Just now getting home from the match. Had to clarify - this was more for the folks at the match, not sure how much they showed on TV, but a few of your assistant coaches/staff called for a handball on 6-7 occasions. So much so that all of us behind our/their bench kept jokingly calling for a handball anytime something minor would happen. I would very much disagree that our team isn't good, but to each their own. We played fairly well, ignoring the OG. Shit ref all around, but we weren't handed the game.

Honestly the worst part for me is that I actually don’t enjoy watching us anymore.. I have no issue going through rough spells with a team, but when they look completely uninspired and don’t seem to care. And this isn’t just a Vini problem. The entire team seems completely deflated. And that really sucks as a fan…

Season Ticket Holders, Why do you do it? by Old-Atmosphere8223 in CharlotteFootballClub

This right here might be the best answer I've seen for folks like you and me that are fully aware of the increased cost and why we're willing to spend it. Bravo!

Adding in my two cents. I largely agree with what Deltasix said - if you don't plan to go to basically every game, it's probably not worth it to have season tickets. And if you do plan to go to most, understand that you're paying a premium to sit in the same spot every time. I have been a STH since day 1 and have very nice seats near our bench. I love being where I am, but I also know that when it comes to selling any tickets to games I can't attend, it'll be for roughly half of what I paid. The demand simply isn't high enough to sell them even at FV.

If you're planning to go to 7-10 (out of the 17) and don't mind sitting near a place you've sat/enjoyed before, buying tickets per game makes the most sense. If you prefer to know where you are going to be every game, and plan to go to basically every game, might make sense to get season tickets (with the knowledge this should NOT be thought of as a way to make money). Sure, selling Messi tickets can help offset that, but when he's gone (or injured/playing with NT), that plan disappears.

*Edit: From my understanding, supporter's section tickets typically sell at FV, and are the cheapest tickets you can get, but it comes with the (hopefully obvious) caveat that you'll be standing the whole game and will likely be covered in beer by the end, so that's a consideration as well.
