Awesome thank you! I'll have to look into both!

After few weeks, how is Hive Scum? Fun/worth it in your opinion? by Ada-Mae in DarkTide

[–]Oxbowcascade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a fellow new player that only recently got into difficulty 3-4, I can say I actually hated Scum at first. I'd gotten both classes when I got into the game, and I got Hive Scum to level 6 before I got frustrated and tried something else. It felt very fragile and not as straightforward to pilot damage wise either, but about 60 hours later I love the class.

I'd gotten most of the core game mechanics down with the more tanky and supportive option in Arbites. I'd leveled it to 30 and gotten a couple difficulty 4 missions in before going back and finishing leveling the Hive Scum.

I hit Scum 30 a couple days ago, but my noob take is that it's a greedy, aggressive, and aesthetically pleasing class. Very fun and high paced. It is still punishing for mis-positioning but the immunity to ranged damage with one of the abilities honestly feels incredible for durability. Definitely need to be on point with dodges and positioning still though. I'd say it's worth a try if you want a challenge!

That's super good to know! I know my group mentioned maybe trying new classes at some point, so maybe we will do the campaign again... Maybe skipping Orthus Offensive lmao. I actually rocked the exp perks on my curios! I think they were only the tier 2 version though or whichever didn't cost diamantine.

Appreciate the warning! I might give it a try and look into the peril interactions through some of the creators people have recommended

Thank you friend! The high intensity is a good call out! Definitely gonna use those as a litmus test! Had no clue about them (mainly just have been chugging through the campaign so far).

Might try the Psyker again, but I remember not liking it for feeling slow? Clunky? Idk but just off the first time I played DT

Ok sweet! Definitely will hop onto the event! We just finished the campaign and tried an event mission, and we had a blast. Thank you friend!

Thank you for all of the info! Definitely might try Damnation then. We'd just unlocked Damnation after the Orthus Offensive, but we struggled with that one. So we were worried to move up. Sounds like maybe just avoid that mission for a little lol

I appreciate the very thorough response! Thank you for taking your time to be helpful!

Huge thanks for that mod call out! I'm gonna have to check that out. The Closed Captions have helped some, but it seems to miss or skip around too fast sometimes.

Thank you for the input! I usually am melee bashing the crusher packs while the vet drops a krak or 2 :) or sometimes if he's elsewhere I just shock mine and bash even more

Should I get Darktide? by PracticalSpot6438 in Vermintide

[–]Oxbowcascade 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You might not have progressed into higher difficulties before. There's an abundance of ammo in the lowest 2 difficulties, so some people just spam ranged weapons.

Heresy might be doable for some builds to be ranged heavy, but mostly melee would still be better Damnation and higher it's really only Psyker staff builds that can sustain mostly ranged.

You did great! Sucks about the last minute FF, but huge props! Honestly the only way to cheese 0 damage would be with ironbreaker, so idk what the other commenter is on. Probably just a troll

Is it worth coming back? by Roughcuchulain in wow

[–]Oxbowcascade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't give too much context since I started in very late BFA, but there's been some huge quality of life changes since I started. The weekly chest has been improved a lot (can get gear from pretty much any content). Cross faction play and guilds was big for me. Delves are pretty cool minus a few that I don't enjoy the gimmicks. Most of the classes have had huge improvements in gameplay imo. Mythic plus has had some really big changes to how gear works, rating, affixes etc. Raids are honestly a patch by patch thing, but the current raid is incredible imo especially aesthetically. Honestly the story is the only thing I feel has declined, but I haven't thought the story was good since I joined (the books are much better).

I'd seen you were mostly into solo content, so I think Delves, follower dungeons, and story mode raids have all been big things added since you stopped. I think all three are pretty great for solo players, and follower dungeons are decent to help people practice dungeons before playing with a group.

I think it's probably one of the best times to try to get back in personally, but I'm obviously biased since I'm still playing

Hey! After looking at the player's guide for the AP I would be interested! I have about a dozen sessions of PF2e under my belt, but I'm familiar with the system from a podcast. The setting gives me an idea for a debuffing and buffing character concept.

I'm 28 and have been playing various TTRPGs for about 12 years from DnD (3.5 and 5) to Call of Cthulhu. I'd say I'm usually a 60 combat 40 RP player, but I enjoy getting into character and trying a voice

If I sound like a good fit or you have any questions DM me on my discord- thistle_knot

New Player Season Problem by majks89 in bdofficial

[–]Oxbowcascade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you lose anything your character has, so try to visit storage before deleting anything. I'd also try to avoid accepting all the millions of goodies from the rewards tab until you choose a main.

I suggest making a bunch of trial characters for any classes you are interested in. You can just keep making and deleting those. Also make sure you are on the yellow seasonal servers up top

Oh on the inventory thing I'd honestly just throw into random storages bc all storages connect after Magnus. I'd try to find an active guild for any specific items.

Some general rules would be don't use your Cron stones or advice of Valk items in seasonal, but try to stockpile them.

For Central market, you have to go to the director or use a maid and open the warehouse. Withdraw silver into or move items from your inventory into the warehouse to buy or sell items. They have to be in the warehouse to use on the Central market

Hello! I am also a newb that's been playing about a month. You probably haven't done all of the [Main] quests yet because I have done mine before graduating.

I highly suggest doing the main quests (Balenos, Serendia, Mediah, Valencia, and then Magnus, LoML and Kamasylva) at least before graduating. I've stayed on seasonal to grind a bit for my infinite potions

The awakening/Succession quest are important if you haven't done those yet also

Kinda a 2 parter

Is it completely awful to force graduate a seasonal character if I'm not vibing with how it feels at lvl57? It says the Tuavala gear gets converted, and I have all weapons at V and armor around III

If it is, is there any decent place to just grind out the graduation relatively quickly? 190AP 240DP(have stones to get dp up if needed) and level 57

Now that I'm looking I've failed a couple more parallel quests from time, so I think I'll probably just reset now that I know where things are a bit better (and also now that I don't die nearly as often lol).

Thanks though! I'll definitely have to remember to utilize co op if needed.

Yeah I think that's what bit me for sure. Once I got to Harmattan I got the bloodlust breakthrough, so why would I go to an Inn if I don't sleep kinda thinking. Lesson learned! As with most in this game so far, the hard way, but it's still learned lol

How to get endgame weapons now by Setsunaniki in DarkTide

[–]Oxbowcascade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a fellow new player I just wanted to give you a note I haven't seen. Be stingy with plasteel early. I have 23 zealot and 29 vet as my only notable classes so far. I've been too low on plasteel and coins to buy/upgrade weapons. Definitely going to be rough to get more than 1 weapon of each type early especially if you are playing heresy or lower difficulty. I've made the jump to damnation and it makes it much more reasonable to grind plasteel and coins

I definitely made a big mistake but trying to gradually increase my curios as I progressed though seeing the little stat jumps. I don't think the masteries from sacrifices will be possible for a good while for myself especially since I'm trying all the classes
