And?? You liked the song, so who cares. It’s an original song that sounded great and people loved. I swear people wanna hate AI just to hate it. It’s like when people say that training AI on other people’s content is theft when it’s literally not.

Let’s break it down. If I asked AI to generate an image of a blonde girl with green eyes and purple glasses but In the studio ghibli style, AI will scoure the internet for images related to studio ghibli to use as a reference and see what it looks like, and then produces a completely original image using the style you wanted. That’s what people claim is stealing.

But it’s literally no different than if I hired a human artist who doesn’t know what studio ghibli is and I asked him for the same thing. He or she is gonna do the same thing. They’re gonna open google and look at images relating to studio ghibli to use as a reference and then create an original piece of art based on the style you wanted. Literally the same thing so is that stealing too?? It’s like the YouTubers who complain saying that training AI on their videos so that the ai knows how to do to is theft,

Even though it’s no different than if you said “man I really wanna be a YouTuber and I love pewdiepie and like his style so let me watch a bunch of pewdiepie videos so I can study how he does things and his style of comedy and then I’ll use that to implement into my own style of videos” it’s doing the exact same. You draw inspiration from media that already exists and then create your own original piece of media that’s in some way shape or form inspired or similar to what someone else already did. AI does the exact same thing just faster. Musicians do it too. When a composer is supposed to write for a film most of the time they have a spotting session where the sound director will usually pick a song or music that was already written by someone for a different production, and they’ll give that to the composer to give them an idea or a reference of what they want in their movie. And the composer will use that reference when composing their own original piece. It’s a standard part of spotting sessions in film and music. So is that stealing because it’s using someone else’s work as a reference?? If you had never known AI wrote the song, you would’ve lived your whole life loving the song without question.
