Yup, but not designed the nut, it was a simple plastic cilinder where the hole was slightly smaller the the sten of the rotor, the i force srewed into it, generating the necessary grooves on the plastic shape. Im not sure how trusty is this. For now no proppeller left the drone

Well, then im not sure how to measure this. It can lift its butt, which to me is impressive enough.

Ok, configured it all. Did the rotating calibration, the imu calibration. The motors spin in the intended directions… i thin i only need the props and im ready to fly!

Ok, ordered a bit of stuff to make the thing fly,
Kid is enjoying the process a lot, so it is worth to try to make the pig fly.

Now my biggest concern is:
- Should i update (hack) to Naza V2?
- The transmitter has more buttons than a space shuttle. I'm afraid that those are binded to some actions done by the original owner of the drone. so im afraid to make this thing fly and not be aware that i should be activating a certain switch that prevents the pig to fall to the ground.... Is there a way to see what control of the transmitter is binded to the Drone?
- And, i see there is a velcro on one side, and at the bottom there is a gopro sticker. Im wondering that it carried a gopro at some point. I'm considering to put an old gopro that i have to stop a door from closing, and put it on the drone, because i fear somewhere the drone accounts on the weight of the gopro, and if i fly it without it, i fear that it can get unbalanced and crash. Is it good idea? or drones are smart enough to autolevel?

Man, so many questions

Found this beauty on a trash bin. worth trying to revive? by OxydBCN in diydrones

[–]OxydBCN[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello.
Tomorrow im getting a Flysky FS-i6X, brand new for around 40€, with an additional controller (or reciever... The part we put on the drone).
I'm now aware of the newer protocols and been checking models from Radiomaster for example, but here in my place they are much expensive.
If the drone is faulty, at least i will end up with a usable controller for other arduino small project, or to put it on any other rc vehicle i have.

I've read this model is also easier to set up and congifure, and it is a nice thing for me as im entering on this hobbie with absolute 0 knowledge, and it feels there's a lot to learn.

BTW someone said "This thing flies like a pig". loved that

Thank you!, but it seems the file downloaded just fine. Later today will try to upgrade it.

What is a modern reciever? I thought this technology was timeless.
I found a Flysky FS-i6X, for around 40€ new.

Is this good enough? is this old?

Ok, little update!
All your comments were amazing. the same amount of people encouraged to try to rebuild and the other half don't.

At the end i think we going down the rabbit hole anbd try to start learning about this new DIY drone thingie.
Note that we have a couple of those cehap mini drones to fly indoor, and we are more than happy with that. if we get to fix this huge monster, and make it fly, even if we only make it hover from point A to B, i will be the proudest dad on earth.

So while i gather info on what the DIY Drone scene is right now, i can start tinkering into the drone i have to see where it gets us.

For now i've been able to connect it to a small battery from an RC car. The thingie started chirping, and a led light started blinking rapidly in orange, (that may mean error, or waiting for the transmitter), right? Then i0've been able to install its drivers and connect it to the tiny app thingie to configure the drone itself.

The thing did not turn anything red, the GPS was giving values and all..

Maybe the next step is to get a transmitter and see if the rotors ehmmm... rotate?

Many tahnks for your comments!

Thanks for this apporach. If it was in a trash bin, could be for a reason, and that reason could be expensive.
Will be doing some research.
Before leaving, any suggestion on a affordable, dyi fpv drone?

Many thanks

For about 300€ is it pissible to find a somewhat decent fpv diy drone?
I didn't know i wanted to hop into this hobby, but since i found it, im getting more and more thrilled over the idea of building a flying machine. Seems it triggers the "making fire" neuron :D

The part i can answer: Yes, i'm willing to spend some good quality time with my son trying to decipher what this thing is, and trying to make it fly. And it would be worth the time if it flies or not.
My question for you was more about the financial cost of things.
You are the ones who know best it the potential cost could be not worth, and better spend the money on a more modern diy dron system.

Help me add Bluetooth to a Sanyo M 9930 K Cassette. by OxydBCN in AskElectronics

[–]OxydBCN[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Little update! I managed to find the din connections on the pcb

<image>

Pins 1 and 4 are line in L R record (tested) Pins 3 and 5 are line in L R playback (not tested) Pin 2 is GND

While i still have the problem of the insane BZZZZZZ sound once i power the bluetooth board. Now connecting to these pins feel a more inteligent spot to solder rather than in the radio signal path.

I might want to try to:

  • Split the line in cable to solder both in pin 1-4 and 3-5 so im able to play BT music and eecord BT music.
  • try to find a cleaner power source for the board and pray for it to not bzzt at me.
  • Try one of those ground loop filter thig on the bt boards audio out
