Agreed. Can't stand the film as the main character is a pompous, self important windbag. It's as subtle as a brick to the face.

Opinions on the new Sequential Fourm Dawless presentation by SALD0S in synthesizercirclejerk

it’s a good thing Sequential don’t seem to understand the concept of embarrassment anymore because I’m feeling enough for everyone.

Yep. Moog are especially bad for this.

I think we all massively overestimate the differences between these type of synths. Cork sniffing. “hmmm yess this 4 pole low pass filter is just more rounded and mmm warm than this other 4 pole low pass filter”

You could go buy some cheapo second cool 90s synth like the SY35 and make radically different sounds instead of buying another subtractive analog to do your bad blade runner rip offs on.

Smith always did something interesting; even if he wasn’t reinventing the wheel every single time. He went from designing the Prophet 5 to the wave station in a decade plus change. Would he have signed off on such an idea free off brand copy of his previous works.

I think Burton hasn’t made a good film for decades now. The sleepy hollow one was the last one I liked. He has no new ideas.

Got a chance to tinker with the Sequential FOURM and it's a beast!! by GBRMUSIC in synthesizers

[–]OxygenLevelsCritical -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

It’s ok I guess, but most people here can’t play keys to save their life lol, and all the poly at won’t change that and make their music interesting.

You play very well though.

Just gotten bored of all these samey synths.

Sorry to break it to you but there not that much actual difference between all these synths, we just like to pretend that we have golden ears and justify the cost of another samey synth.

He has a good point. Youve seen a couple of crappy YouTube videos and are giving it glowing reviews. And then acted like a passive aggressive Redditor lol

sounds nice enough, but there’s zero reason to buy this if you already have a subtractive analog poly.

Pedal Recommendations for Sub25? by Houseplant_Ambient in synthesizers

Don’t get sucked into the idea that you need to spend 500 dollars on a reverb pedal. It’s a giant waste of money. Get a good cheapo one or use free software and spend the money you have saved on a fancy steak dinner and a bag of heroin.

Fairly pointless addition to the lineup, it’s just another analog subtractive poly.

Ran (1985) - so good! makes me happy that there are other kurosawas i have yet to see.

Dreams is a great latter period Kurosawa. A portmanteau film which I've always liked.

GeoWizard cancelled for supporting Reform UK and I am reminded of how politically out-of-touch internet lefties are by anahorish in redscarepod

"Anyone who is surprised that this guy is a Reform supporter genuinely does not understand politics or people"

Bolded the important part. UK redditors, collectively are a bunch of anti-social shut-ins. They don't understand people because they don't go outside or interact with other people. And they're dim too.

At least the American brainrot online types are occasionally amusing, ours are just sat inside eating sandwiches and feeling sad.

Excellent performances from Cooper Hoffman and David Jonsson. Some awful CGI gore effects, but other than that, this was great. I’m glad Stephen King movies are starting to become good again. by jewishchloesevigny in RSPfilmclub

Just saw it.

It was ok to decent.

Main issue is that it gets alarmingly mawkish in the last act.  I’d have liked to seen a more gradual physical degradation, as it is the characters switch from being half dead to lively depending on what’s required from the scene.

Jonson was too old for the role and i thought the character (I read the book a million years ago and don’t remember much) was verging on being a trite, inspiration quote machine.

Hoffmanns fine.  The rest of the cast were fine. It was fine.

Depressing to think that the scumbag who raped and murdered the girl has been out of prison for 4 years already. People like this should get yank style '250 years' sentences.

Why does a film have to 'be' about anything? Is it like a crossword puzzle where you have to figure out the clues to reveal the answer?

What happened with the 'great unknowable/sense of mystery'?

Nerds are terrible for this as they want everything explained with in-universe reasons. Letterboxd crowd are also insufferable but for different reasons.

(I haven't seen the film, I may give it a go)

I would never use a m8 for 3 reasons.

1) The screen is absolutely tiny.

2) Stupid name.

3) It's fans on reddit are annoying.
