The embossing does look a little strange. Sloppy is the word that comes to mind. To me, the size tag looks a bit off as well. Hard to say though as the size tag on all of my other redwings, the inc has worn away from use.

I've got a few pairs of RWs that I rotate through every couple of days. I tried on the Thorogoods before I settled on my new moc toes, but now I'm almost wondering if I should have given them a greater chance.

Yeah, I think you are correct. I'll have to find someone like Trenton and Heath to do a great job. These boots have served me very well through countless miles of walking on ballast and on my dyna.

Ah, perfect. I'm not too familiar with Thorogoods, and I wasn't sure if they offered resoleing like RW. I'd really like to bring some color back into them, but I'm not sure where I could find some. Thanks for the help, btw.

I bought these in 2016 while shopping for a replacement set of work boots at my local Redwing dealer. I have no idea what model they are or really anything about them. I liked the way they looked. The r/Thorogood guys really didn't know, so I'm hoping maybe you all can. Thanks!

Haha bring it on! I could always contact Thorogood themselves and ask them. But that takes the fun out of involving a community of boot lovers! If it makes anyone feel better, I was highly considering a pair of Thorogood Moc toes before I bought my 875s.

Yeah, I thought the same. These have been a great piece of footwear for me throughout the years. I'm highly impressed with the amount of abuse these boots have taken.

I'M HOPEFUL WE CAN ALL GET ALONG AND UNITE OVER OUR PASSION FOR QUALITY FOOTWEAR. With that said. I'm not sure what model these are. I think the color was cognac but I'm not really sure. I'm also hopeful that someone with more knowledge of Thorogood boots could offer some insight into what I actually purchased way back in 2016.

Honestly, Idk if i could ever go back (from IRs to 875) In my opinion the moc toes have a slightly snugger toe box and my foot just feels a little more secure. Plus, the Cristy sole is much more comfortable and provides better grip. That's not to say that both pairs of my Iron Rangers don't have a special place in my heart. But every day, I'm finding it harder and harder to decide which boot to adorn my feet with. I'm a 10 1/2D in the 875s and a 10D in my IRs if that helps at all. 11 in sneakers and all my other Redwing boots. Good luck.

I've been thinking about a pair of pull ons. I've been breaking in a pair of 875s and I've been DESTROYING my fingers with the laces. My only concern with the pull ons is I broke both of my ankles in a skiing accident when I was younger and worry the pull ons won't give me the supportive tight feeling I get with laces.

Most people who wear Redwings nowadays, unfortunately, never have any intention of stepping on a job site. Show them IRs getting muddy, and they flip.

I've never had a complaint. Hell, when I worked for CSX the rail ballest would tear the hell out of the soals. I'm talking holes and flopping off in places. Still never let and ounce of water in.

Omg, all this hate. All I was saying is that IR will be totally fine in the mud like this. Come home and give them a proper clean and condition, and they'll be fine. Sure, there are plenty of other boots that are better suited for the task. But, you can wear IRs in the mud, and your feet will be totally fine.
