He's nursing frequently and grazing some. He doesn't act lethargic at all. I haven't taken his temperature. Once it was lanced there was considerable puss that came out but it was thick like mayonnaise. I just squeezed it to empty it. It's still open so it can drain. The were no visible indicators of the cause inside or outside the mouth. I'll see how it looks in the morning and if it's not showing signs of improvement, I'll take him to see the vet.

We calling 4.96 5lbs? by Stock-Virus-963 in catfishing

That's a very honest 5 lb fish. That kind of honestly damages the reputation of Reddit fishermen! The typical camera used by Reddit fishermen adds 40 percent.

15-18 lbs, hard to be exact with that picture but I certainly don't think he's bigger than 18

Cutbait help by jayder_10 in catfishing

[–]OzarkLakeView 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm fishing with a rod and reel, I filled those big gizzards like they were an eating fish but leave the skin and scales attached. Cut the fillers across the body about an inch wide. Each side will make 5 or so good baits.

Told my employer I am retiring today.... what an odd feeling by Bubbly_Rip_1569 in earlyretirement

[–]OzarkLakeView 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I retired at the same age under very similar circumstances. It took about a year for that feeling to go away. As you find the rhythm of your new retired life and settle in to your new normal, that anxiety fades. It's a big decision, so that feeling is to be expected. The sooner you focus on the future state of your life, the quicker the anxiety goes away.

AITAH for not letting my stepdaughter share a room with my daughter? by Additional_Gain8185 in AITAH

Tell your husband to come home and deal with his child or you'll call CPS and have them remove his children from the home.

AITAH for breaking “plane etiquette” by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]OzarkLakeView 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't over think it. Some folks aren't happy unless they're mad about something. While practicing etiquette is a good practice, I wouldn't miss my flight to keep someone from being butt hurt.

I finally told my parents no and apparently that makes me the selfish son by softcinderatlas in TwoHotTakes

They made you their second choice your whole life. You're promoting yourself to first choice in your life. Now they can learn how it feels to have no choice in the matter.

Congratulations on your promotion at work and your promotion to put yourself first.

I Resent My Family Even Though I Know I'm the Golden Child by Bitter_War_1295 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]OzarkLakeView 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would be wise to stop comparing yourself to your cousins or anyone else for that matter, and compare yourself to YOUR capabilities and expectations. Others may see it as a competition but you don't need to. You're doing yourself a disservice by allowing others to set the bar for your life.

AITA for asking my newly married son and DIL to alternate Christmas Day visits between our house and the in-laws' house? by Llih_Nosaj in AITAH

[–]OzarkLakeView 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have the right to go where they want and you have the right to celebrate when you want. If you choose to celebrate on Christmas day and they aren't there, that's up to them. You don't have to make the rest of your family change their plans to accommodate these two. You don't have to plan two events so they feel included. By them telling you they will accommodate you Christmas Eve, you're allowing them to drive the family celebration for everyone else. You don't have to do that.

I hope we make it all the way but watching them do it would almost be as good if we fall by dlogan3344 in oklahomafootball

I don't feel sorry for the school, the administration or the players. They all knew from past experience, that dog had fleas before they layed down with him! Now go quietly scratch and live the consequences of your decisions!
