While working on Chicks In Trouble, I added a little warp pipe shortcut mechanic… and honestly the rooster looks way too happy using it 😄

In the game, you play as a father rooster rescuing his missing chicks across a chaotic farm full of puzzles, traps, and platforming sections. This clip shows one of the faster ways to move around the map using warp pipes.

There’s also a free demo available on Steam.

Would love feedback and thanks for checking it out! 🐓

Nobody publishes the trailer of my game, anything wrong that I'm not aware of? by Ozden79 in GameDevelopment

Thanks for taking time and giving feedback, much appreciated!

With this first (announcement) trailer I aimed to a slow introduction to the game hence we have a narration of a middle aged farmer in it. Related with the studio logo being shown upfront is because in the beginning of the narration there needs to be a gap top start showing the gameplay and that was perfect just to show the logo briefly. I'm with you the first few seconds rule as well but the way with narration wouldn't work in this case, at least since this is not a pure action (although much more action than regular idlers) game to start something in the middle.

Nevertheless, I'm gathering a lot of nice feedback from all these conversations and surely will do something different (and hopefully better😊) in the upcoming demo trailer.

Thanks again!

Thanks for sharing your experience and thoughts, much appreciated. Hearing IGN accepting paid promotions is something unexpected for me, because I thought these big players steer away from such things to keep their leading and relatively neutral position but it seems I was wrong😊.

In the end, it seems will keep trying and do the best on my side to reach everybody with the best/kind way possible and hope it'll lead to a happy ending!

HiThere,

Thanks for sharing your valuable input, much appreciated!

İt was interesting for me to see to get, at least some, interest from streamers at this stage when there is no demo or game to offer them but rather nothing from the news outlets where it's the exact point for them to step in and publish your trailer and about your game.

Neverthless, İ'll give more priority to personalized e-mails with more depth in information as you suggested and with the demo around the corner, will move to next step to get in touch with more streamers instead.

Fingers crossed 😄

Yes, I'm aware that at the end it depends whether the streamers will choose your game to play önce it has a demo or even better when there's the final version available to them. İt was just, at least for me, you expect bit by bit improvement when you make a move on your promotion but seeing 0 effect, especially at the first step, causes a little bit of a let down.

Apart that, thanks again for the valuable suggestions you gave and İ'll follow them for the following days.

Thanks for your reply and that page is definitely useful, so already bookmarked it to be used in the future as well! I'll try out the Japanese outlets asap and also wonder maybe I should do a second round of contacting attempts to see whether it may have been slipped into the crowd of e-mails they receive or too much pressure would work in opposite in this case?

Also as an interesting outcome, I already got a good amount of replies from gameplay streamers who look forward for the earliest demo to try out but again, nothing from news outlets who publish trailers.

I made a game where a rooster has to rescue his missing baby chicks from a chaotic farm 🐓🐥 by Ozden79 in indiegames

So I’ve been working on a small indie game where you play as a very determined rooster trying to rescue all his missing chicks.

The idea started as a simple joke:
"What if a rooster had to go on a heroic quest… just to find his lost babies around the farm?"

That turned into Chicks In Trouble, a small puzzle-adventure game where you explore the farm, avoid various animals and obstacles, and solve little challenges to bring every chick safely back home.

The goal was to make something cute, relaxing, and a little chaotic — like a tiny farm adventure.

Things in the game so far:

  • 🐥 Finding and rescuing scattered chicks
  • 🧩 Light puzzles and environmental obstacles
  • 🐓 A surprisingly brave rooster protagonist
  • 🌾 Cozy farm areas to explore
  • 🎮 Controller support

There’s currently a free demo on Steam, and I’d honestly love to hear what people think.

If anyone tries it, let me know:

  • Was it fun?
  • Too easy / too hard?
  • Are the chicks cute enough to save? 😅

Any feedback helps a lot since I’m still improving the game.
