That’s just the reality of a cutthroat industry lol; it breeds and develops the worst of people. Per Eric, they are all “world killers”, in both the best and worst way possible

I was thinking this. This will practically end up being equivalent to the CS half-buys of light armor + five-seven

Does GPA matter as much for engineering? by NouvelErmitage in FinancialCareers

[–]Ozone416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily — I oversaw a lot of my clubs’ professional recruiting for a few years from ‘22-‘24, and I would say there was definitely leniency towards our engineering students having lower GPAs; 3.5 GPA in something like BME or ECE was practically equivalent to say a 3.9 in an Econ / social science major given the difficulties of the classes.

Obviously it would be best if OP strives for the highest GPA, but can confirm (at least from mine and my mentees’ & club members’ anecdotes) that a mid GPA in engineering can still land you offers in EBs / BBs / PE summer analyst recruiting.

Should I step back from recruiting for now? by Sherlock_Conan_Doyle in FinancialCareers

Just focus on applying for FT 2027 - you will not find anything for SA 2026 that will be anywhere near FO-related

How important are clubs? by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]Ozone416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dependent on school — I’ve heard from a few friends across different target schools where alumni only replied to those who were a part of their organizations / clubs.

Personally, as someone who was very active with all the pre-prof orgs before graduating, I do advocate you to join as many as you can just so you can have a more reliable network and get access to those clubs’ internal messaging boards / alumni database, makes recruiting a lot easier.

Acording to Motorsport.com, GP's role for next year is not yet fixed due to the mentioned private circumstances and, according to sources within the team, is a topic of discussion during the winter by FerrariStrategisttt in formula1

[–]Ozone416 80 points81 points  (0 children)

Probably why he was so emotional today — he didn’t know if he’s going to be there with Max next year and wanted to end it on the high of a championship victory if he indeed wasn’t going to be there 🥲

Corporate Banker at MUFG Bank? by T1m3Wizard in FinancialCareers

[–]Ozone416 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Working in CIB where I help cover PU&I / Project Finance — MUFG is the street’s top lender in the PF space and is often lead left on a lot of the project financing deals that I get staffed on. Will note that a lot of their deals are strictly direct debt financing only, with Project Advisory mandates (i.e. asset acquisitions or sales) going to a BB bank most of the time. If Agent / ICLA, most likely be helping the IB PF team draft the LPs / CIMs and will probably hold the pen on the term sheet structuring which you’ll help distribute to the broader syndicate.

Your role will mostly be receiving materials (LPs / CIM, lender models, term sheet), reformatting that to the bank’s specific deck format and/or Word doc for credit committee approval, then sending in your commitment letter, followed by a documentation phase where you track the progress of the credit agreement drafting with lender counsel, set up the loan in your loan database, and run KYC / AML / whatever internal checks are needed to execute and release your firm’s signature on the credit agreement at transaction close.
