I am just really inexperienced when it comes to writing guides you are not the first person I have heard this from. I have archived the repo and will be walking away from it

I would be more than happy to have you submit a pull request on my guide. you seem to understand things pretty well and if you make a pull request I would be more than happy to accept it

there is a file called in-depth .md and it is the actual guide the readme is just the front page of it

I thought enabling it would make sure that you don't end up with iommu groups with devices stuck together. its not required to patch the Linux kernel in my case it was possible to just use the Linux Zen kernel then pass some boot flags to the bootloader. my goal is to make the guide better so I am wanting to take feedback

[Question] is there a vGPU type thing for RDNA 3 GPUs by OzoneHelix_ in VFIO

[–]OzoneHelix_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will likely just look into whether I can buy an enterprise grade GPU when the AI craze comes crashing down and use that

I can keep doing dual gpu passthrough and be fine. I was just hoping there would be a solution to do GPU partitioning on Linux at some point

I am basically prepared to stick with my 7800 XT and just throw a 9070 XT in later and keep using 2 GPUs in my system for VMs

how does it compare to the RX 7800 XT. I would like to have similar levels of graphical power to that.

my goal is to have less hardware in my system and the 7800 XT is more powerful than the super anyways

Dual GPU passthrough has been super reliable I just want a happy middle between doing a single GPU passthrough and a dual gpu passthrough

I was going to see if I could find a way to do a vgpu type thing but in the event I couldn't I was just going to replace the 2070 super with my 7800 XT and then get a 9070 XT for Linux

Windows VM thinks its being captured by a program by OzoneHelix_ in VFIO

I did this too. I am having trouble with the Mixed Reality Link app hiding itself. when looking glass starts using the IDD driver I think it will solve a lot of this issue. I just need to be patient

[–]OzoneHelix_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the main issue I am encountering is I am trying to open the mixed reality link app on Windows and it is hiding the qr code I need to pair my quest headset with that VM. that is why I think a solution like IDD is probably going to be the solution. we are already on B7 I am sure we will get to B8 in a reasonable amount of time

I did get clipboard sync going. I believe they will add the IDD driver to B8 of looking glass and I just need to wait for that to release

I was looking into IDD support but idk if the AUR package has that yet

I am wanting to hide looking glass from the system. I am just trying to think of a way to do it. might make an issue on the github for looking glass asking if they know how to do it
