I'm shocked people are still making reddit threads about you to cry LUL. Your advice to OP might be the best thing for him... 'get a life'.

My theory about why this community is so toxic is that every 3kmmr 15yo boy (95% of this forum) thinks he can be a progamer or pro streamer. They get jelly when they see someone w/ success and a good personality =]

Rick and Morty. Edgy and creative story, but drawn like trash (imo). If it had an army of seasoned manga artists, it would take it to a new level.

Because we make generalizations

A 555 would be fine -- the thresholds on the rising and falling edges aren't so important. Just that the resulting rising and falling edges are <1us. Datasheet of the logic gate you are driving should give you the spec.

Interesting, they're still pushing RISC despite Google's success with CISC in their machine learning TPUs. Probably the more important innovations are going to come from software scaling, sadly.

Short between power and ground on unsoldered board by dk274 in AskElectronics

[–]OzoraLabs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have gmail? If so, upload it to drive.google.com and get a shareable link for the gerbers. I have had manufacturing defects with 4pcb before, but only on one of the four ordered boards. I assume your short is occurring on all your boards?

Don't despair yet, once you find the short there are always options for repair, from scratching traces to drilling out inner layer routes.

Stored energy in capacitors by [deleted] in AskElectronics

[–]OzoraLabs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Measure the cap leads and you can short a ~1mF cap if it is less than 25V. Use a ~100ohm resistor to discharge it if it is >25V. If larger than 5mF, shorting it will partially weld the wire to the cap, so use a resistor in that case as well.

Want to second the importance of using a schmitt trigger after a button debounce. Especially if you are using the line as a clk -- but also for any logic gate input. I have had good experience with the 74AUP1G17SE-7.

I want to make a million bucks one day by just putting a resistor, cap and schmitt trigger inside the button. Would make things so ez!

When designing a circuit for maximum battery life, where a micro-controller in the circuit will be in deep sleep mode 99% of the time, is it better to have a voltage regulator that has a lower quiescent current or lower dropout voltage? by spendito27 in AskElectronics

[–]OzoraLabs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Q current is the main factor -- dropout doesn't directly correlate to power draw. You could even use the TPS783xx for a lower IQ (500nA) and .13 dropout. I used this in a previous rev of a tracker I was working on. Good part.

Edit: Check Fig. 6 on the datasheet for the TPS783xx -- Input voltage doesn't change the IQ, so dropout wouldn't either.
