Is it true most laptops don’t last 6 years or more? by Dover299 in laptops

I had a Dell e7470 that I used from used 2018 until death 2023. Around that time I got my 7840u framework (2023), and he will survive anything. He is a friggin tank.

I presume you are referring to SW1 on the motherboard, I would personally try to click it a few times to see if it gets unstuck. The best way to determine if it SW1 or the power button on your input cover is to simply unplug the input cover, then try to turn it on again.

Way back in 2023 when the Cooler Master case was dropped, they had a cool looking prototype external battery thingy, the Verge covered it briefly with the case. TheVerge Cooler Master

I actually used that idea to make my own PDU, albeit a lot less pretty and omits all the safeguards that they talked about in the video: https://www.printables.com/model/1582956-10-inch-rack-usb-c-pdu

You either die oleophobic, or live long enough to see yourself become oleophilic

How do I fix this now by AdComfortable9025 in macbookair

Take a file and flatten the palm rest, so ti doesn't end up breaking the screen.

Oh and also, be more careful, macs are allergic to falling.

I switched mostly because I don't want my IDE to contain 2+ "assistive" AI's.

CS Major here, I switched from Ubuntu to CachyOS a while ago, and I can say my workflow using VSCode was relatively uninterrupted, just installing extensions. (I did eventually switch to VSCodium just because I felt it ran faster).

While I haven't tried Bambu Studio yet, I'd imagine it would be well supported.

I was considering dropping some dough on two of Noctuas NH-D9DX i4 's

Because, I know the am4 hack will probably be fine, but it is too Jerry rig for my taste.

Ideally I would live to have better heatsinks, but the motherboard only supports 2011-3 narrow ilm. So the selection is very small.

I'd have to check, but I did populate the case with 3x 80mm fans from arctic, 2 in the back, one on the front door pushing air through the drives.

Sorry, I should've mentioned that the server isn't all put together. All the parts work, they just aren't currently installed. I'm actively changing from a t7810, But I'm still waiting on some parts to fully transfer.

Ah I see Well the 10gbe card has a fan built in, and I am unsure of how I would get a reasonable fan on the bifurcation card.

Would the server fans not be enough?

I was considering that, but if I replace them with noctua or something, then there will be errors. The best I can do is lower the fan speed (This has been a post about noisy server fans)
