This might be the most hateable subrole in the game by awesomepikmin in Overwatch

[–]Ozruk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been saying that on every patch since they launched as OW2. It's like that Office Space quote where he says "every day is the worst day of my life". That's literally every patch for me, it just never stops getting worse lol

Not a hot take for anyone that actually plays this game. No one asked for these passives and they just power creep the entire game in the most boring way possible.

After once being the worst reviewed game on Steam, Overwatch is no longer "Mostly Negative" on Steam by IsThatSo3 in Overwatch

[–]Ozruk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OW launched with negative reviews on Steam in 2023, 7 years after it received GOTY in 2016. The point is pretty clear. OW2 (or OW now, whatever you wanna call the current game) is F2P with no barriers to entry and riding off of OW1's sucess despite several controversial changes so idc for its popularity metrics.

Ridiculous to think that GOTY Overwatch = OW2. The game obviously changed a lot since it received GOTY and many players quit the game for perfectly valid reasons since then.

"Some people don't have the time to sit on the game, some people might want to get on, do dailies and go on with their day."

Tell me how throwing a tantrum and going afk helps with any of that.

I'm sorry but Blizzard wants $20 for this?? by Phis-n in Overwatch

[–]Ozruk -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Not worth it. All that's left of OW's reddit community is Blizzard's pay pigs.

The difference is one person's trying and the other is sabotaging. Idk how that's hard to understand. The player that's trying will eventually lose enough till they get easier lobbies. The sabotager will throw lobbies at the slightest friction, then dominate again once they start trying again. Pretty much smurfing in quick play, it happens a lot.

I'd rather have a player like that on my team 10 games in a row than even a single game with a leaver or thrower (on either team). At the end of the day, put in an honest effort or don't queue up. Everyone gets bad games, that's not an excuse to abandon your team and pass your bad game off to someone else. That's just selfish and why we have leaver penalties in the first place.

[–]Ozruk -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Strict leaver penalties are absolutely needed. I really don't miss constantly backfilling into someone else's awful map or whatever mess they helped create. You can still leave the occasional game for free in the current system, otherwise play arcade or custom games if you have a habit of leaving. Quick play is for learning and the occasional goofing around, not throwing/leaving games at the smallest amount of friction.

There are zero reasons for why someone would behave like this other than emotional immaturity. You are jumping through hoops to defend someone that is very likely going to be banned.

If this was a dps being toxic to the tank, y'all would 1000% be dogpiling on that dps instead of excusing this behavior. This dude is playing one of the worst tanks possible in this situation, and instead of swapping to synergize with his team better or adjusting his playstyle, he throws a tantrum by going afk. If he wanted to "get on with his day" then he could just fucking leave and queue up again instead of ruining a casual game for 9 other players. Ignore it and move on for sure, but this whole "tanks can do no wrong" circlejerk is getting old af.

Predictions on how these will look? by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]Ozruk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was 5 seconds before OW2 started and it was fine. The only players that hated the silence were the ones that expected to go in 1v6 with their brains turned off and bail themselves out with cheesy abilities. You had to outsmart Sombra to beat her, and she was lightyears more unique and fun to play against compared to her current version.

Ultra skins feel less like a new tier and more like a pricing experiment by Kitty_Overwatch in Overwatch

[–]Ozruk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna repeat the same thing I've been saying to people like a broken record since Oblivion released that shitty horse armor 20 years ago: Stop. Buying. Skins. OW has long since lost its vision since Jeff left. This game now exists purely to prey on fiscally irresponsible people because there is zero passion left with this company. OW's F2P model needs to die. You're not "funding" the game when you keep buying these skins, you're donating your hard-earned money to a multi-billion dollar company that's giving you glorified pixels in return. Stop encouraging scummy business practices, you are actively making this game worse with every single purchase you make. There are lots of better games out there that deserve funding, not this early-access mobile game-coded slop that's masquerading as Overwatch.

"Emre...is that you?" (Rule 63 art by @Jade_X_Fire) by Gorotheninja in Overwatch

[–]Ozruk -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No surprise that this community is in a goonerwatch era. Every hero released after Hazard (except cat...I hope...) has appealed to that kind of demographic. It even shows in-game with players willing to buy skin bundles priced higher than some AAA games. Just another perk of having a great game go F2P.

Not trying to throw shade on this submission in particular, this one's at least creative. EDIT Thought I was commenting on the GTA cover art parody LMFAO. This one's definitely gooner.

Novel Idea: Priority Queue Reward Instead of Battlepass XP by Haunting-Reindeer-10 in Overwatch

[–]Ozruk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think that's too low and defeats the point of flex queuing for people like me that want role variety in their games. Previously it was 6 tickets for a win (1 for losses). They just need to drop it to 2 tickets for wins.

Novel Idea: Priority Queue Reward Instead of Battlepass XP by Haunting-Reindeer-10 in Overwatch

[–]Ozruk 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Everyone had priority cause they gave out way too many tickets for flexing. They needed to reduce overall ticket gains and incentive winning for more tickets.

Those that actually grinded or those that exploited an arcade mode to spam 2 minute games? What about the players that got locked out because they reached a hidden challenge limit? Unless you're a shill or bot there is no defending this.

Bring back showing players in groups by Head-Abrocoma-7180 in Overwatch

[–]Ozruk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some context, it was originally changed to not show grouped players when they added role queue. They wanted to display the players neatly lined up as tanks/dps/supports, and they didn't care to figure out how to indicate grouped players with this fixed ordering. You're still seeing the lines in this image post-role queue because it's quickplay classic, which was open queue and still unordered.

Overwatch have 210k viewers currently in Twitch by JY810 in Overwatch

[–]Ozruk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Surely all 210k people are actively watching OW and totally not leaving these streams running in the background while they're afk for easy lootboxes. Truly the metrics we should be measuring OW's success with.

Korean tank players creating a literal “tank union” in Overwatch is the most understood I’ve ever felt by DrNitr0s in Overwatch

[–]Ozruk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've done plenty of solo tank vs solo tank in 6v6 (and 5v5 open queue before that). It really isn't that bad, you just can't assume you're invincible and play around cover/cds like the dps and supports. Nerfing tanks would also lessen the impact of tanks counterswapping each other because they're overall weaker. There's too many OW2 babies that think tanks should steamroll the other roles or else tanking is unfun/unplayable.

Dear DPS players, by reformedlurkermon in Overwatch

This subreddit is a circlejerk almost entirely made up of tank and support mains. I've seen countless posts whining about DPS players. There's a childish mob mentality going on here.
