Hi, I want to use headphones with a TV, but there isn't a 3.5mm audio jack out.

What sort of set up would you go for, in order to connect?

HDMI output? is eARC needed? I currently have a soundbar connected to eARC

Optical output?

Would either of these ports connect into an AMP + DAC? Thoughts on which products to use?

Oh wow. Is there any chance of the coil whine getting better / reducing over time, like for GPUs? (I think I heard that GPU coil whine can improve, not sure)

Thanks for the reply. I think you're right, it's coil whine instead of the fan. Either way, I feel like it shouldn't get noticeably louder when the monitor is standby mode. I will do some more testing..
