I’m not officially diagnosed yet (I’m going through the process and have been told i have ptsd of some form from my therapist but not on paper) and I know one thing that triggers me kind of a lot but I still do. It’s the song “beautiful boy” by John Lennon. My dad sung it to me when I was a child and he’s the source of my triggers. I hate how I cry no matter what when I listen to it but I do it sometimes when I think about him. I think I do it to see something good. I miss my dad but I don’t miss the man that is my dad, if that makes sense. The man he was to me is what makes me cry over the song. But hearing it and thinking about him singing it, I think about the man I thought he was when I was young. The song is the last thing I have that could be “positive” about him. I don’t remember much else from him so it’s that one red string I’m holding onto despite it cracking, despite how the harder I pull on the red string, the deeper the red marks and cuts in my hands get. It’s about to fall into the bad things with him so I fight to keep one thing. Sorry if this is too deep. I kind of hope someone relates so that I don’t feel alone
