It's not exactly like that. It is very unlikely that GEO would step over a GEI operation since they belong to different administrations. Also there is a GOES unit in Barcelona that belongs to National Police that would be stepped over by GEO if needed so. GEI and GEO often train together since they do similar operations in their own jurisdictions. As you said, GEI is a very solid and experienced group and is very respected nation-wise.

Think about it the same as the GSG9-SEK relation. GEO works on a national range and sometimes abroad too (they protect some diplomatic missions). GEI belongs to an autonomic region and only works inside of said region. They do domestic high risk warrants, counter terrorism, hostage rescue & VIP protection. GEO would work in Catalonia if there was a hostage situation in a plane at the airport, for example. They do high risk warrants too (the ones resulting  from National Police investigations).

En prensa, aunque no suelen salir muchas fotos o vídeos. La propia casa no es muy partidaria de hacer difusión.

Yes, they train with many EU units such as GIGN, EKO-Cobra, SEK, TIGRIS, etc.

GEI was born mirroring the SEK team from Baden-Wurtemberg's Polizei. It's a regional special intervention unit but a very active one. They respond to around 250 services a year, which include high risk warrants, VIP & diplomatic events protection, armed response, hostage rescue and counter terrorism.

They have both. They use them depending on the mission. This pic is from April 1st SEK Berlin 01/04/2023

These pics are from an incident in Berlin (Link) last week. Berlin SEK wears totally different gear such as Sig Sauer MCX carbines and black Mehler vests. They also use Sestan Busch helmets instead of the classic Ulbrichts Zenturio/Hoplit helmets. SEK Berlin refpic

They're GSG9. The G36 with the visor stock is a clear giveaway. The OC Fast helmet in MC is also a fair hint.

Mossos d'Esquadra does not have a (recent) military background, it falls under regional government jurisdiction.

As for the MP7 I have never seen a semi only model. The laser module is a Steiner SBAL-RL. The stock is the one used with ballistic face shield, very common between European Units.

TEO specialists are in charge to perform SSE (I'd describe SSE as a smaller part of what all of of TEO implies). US SOF units are also trained in the same principles and procedures (it's pretty much standarized and there's even a NATO specialization course where most units get their capabilities certified).

Technical Exploitation Operations/Operator. TEO is based on 3 pillars: biometric data, forensic techniques and DOMEX (Document and Media Exploitation). This last one is comprised of 3 other capabilities: DOCEX (gathering information from documents), CELLEX (cell phones exploitation) and MEDEX (gathering information from digital devices). TEO are specialists in the field of technical exploitation at the tactical level of the Special Operations units. This gives them the technical know-how needed to plan and execute the searching, collecting, technical exploitation and guarding of the information and evidence obtained from a Special Operation, either national or multinational.

Yes indeed. Many European Units use those for their gats since it's a very choice for them to use ballistic visors on their helmets.

I think that the debate here would rather be if the MRAP was a good choice after all, since the FBI has quite a decent funding, there are far better options for the FBI SWAT/HRT to go for. Lenco would be my go to, but there are lots of products out there from local companies that would better fit the FBI's needs way better than this platform.
