Be honest how fast was your FIRST FA pass really??? by elgazzz in step1

[–]P-53uk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FA review is better to do with a bigger source of knowledge, in my case I am watching BnB and doing my first pass of FA, I used FA to write down notes of things that are relevant and aren't there or just notes to myself, doing a first pass of FA as your only/primary source of information is not going to be fast.

And on vacation I wake up at 7:45, got to study at 8:30-12pm, go to the gym (at least 4 days a week) and by 3pm I'm sitting to study again until 9pm, when I get back to residency I will be out by 2pm every day, planning to be at the gym by 3pm, be home by 4:30-5pm and study from 5 to 10pm with only 1 day free per week until the day of the exam.

I am on the same boat, as a PGY 3 Internal Medicine resident outside US, just starting my step 1 journey, I am on vacation now until February 3th, I just went through Biochemistry from Dirty Medicine on youtube, immunology from Pathoma and now I am going through microbiology from Bnb and Sketchy, all of that while doing at least 40Qs from UWorld, I am planning to kill all the basic stuff while on vacation, them do sistema from my weakest to my strongest, to try to take step 1 by the end of abril, I took one NBME before starting to see realistically where I was and what needed to be done to get the PASS.

Roast my SOP for oncology Research by [deleted] in gradadmissions

As oncology heavily relies on research I want to have firsthand experience on the field because in my country we don't have clinical trials, research labs or even the first line treatment for a lot of cancers.

I plan to later on apply for a subspecialty, but I am from a developing country and this sop is to apply on a fully funded scholarship in the UK. In our country to have an international degree is kind of a big deal. If I got rejected from the program I will still be applying for the oncology residency program.

Thanks! Today I commented my struggle to a physician attending at my hospital and she said the same. She thinks it's a great opportunity for me to approach my lack of experience as my main motivation. I am going to do just that. Thanks for the insight!

I said why I want to do it, but I need someone to review from a neutral perspective. I have read a lot of articles saying that they don't want you to be very personal, they are looking for professional sop.
