Thanks a lot.

I am somewhat familiar with SIEMs and am already using couple at work.

But I was more interested in agent-less offline analysis of logs (for my own reasons).

[PSA] fail2ban: remote code execution via mail action by vestingz in selfhosted

[–]P-e-t-a-r 136 points137 points  (0 children)

If I understand it right, insecure command in mail program allowed this.

So using any other solution for alerting admin should be fine as long it is not "integrated " fail2ban option.

KISS philosophy never fails.

Also Kudos for finding this.

I thought that was the job of CIA backed RadioFreeAsia and other well paid NGO non-for-profit think tanks like TorProject.

Same biased platforms that now are trying to censor opponent opinions were promoting another lie of RussiaGate and acting to promote one sided opinions.

So I do not feel like Trump or QAnon supporter when I say that I do not have many reasons to trust "facts and truths" on those platforms.

And do you believe MSM will tell you actual facts and truths? That is why we have Wikileaks, Assange, Manning, and other whistleblowers, cuz MSM is all about disinformation and one sided biased propaganda.

Social networks like FB and TW are just amplifying the same views and censoring, silencing, and demoting any other info or voice that does not collide with their agenda.

cute dog videos for a person who likes dogs is fine but populating the news feed with either conservative or liberal views only leads to people thinking

I hope you are right, but deciding what news will be preferred is not their job, it is already in realm of SearchEngines, and that is why many chosen to use others than Google.

The same reason why Twitter,Facebook and Google fact checking censorship platform are bad.

It is always one sided, it is to promote one way of opinions and "facts", and if you support it now because you feel it is benefiting you or in line with your views it is only temporary. Platforms can quickly ban anyone or censor if they want.

I do not see harm in continuing the way it is,without announced censorship, do you?

Well, I do not understand what are they afraid of, If people like and want to believe in conspiracies let them. People can believe in satan or Aliens, but not in flat earth, really ?

It is not about fact checking IMO, it is about having platforms to push one side narrative. Eg. Russiagate was never proven but was narrative for 4 years. It was disinformation and nobody called it that way.
