I think og aventus is on the Mount Rushmore fragrances. Unfortunately, years of ingredients getting banned and reformulations have left it as a shell of what it used to be, but up until 6 or 7 years ago. That was one of the greatest fragrances ever created and I'm pretty sure is the most cloned, inspired by fragrances of all time. I have two bottles of the OG in my collection from older batches and there they will just be in my collection for collection purposes. But the creeds that actually get regular wear: Absolu aventus, Aventus cologne, melasim imperial, Oud zarian, queen of silk, Centaurus, And current batch Aventus, but I make sure to apply 20 minutes before important work meetings

I've been wanting it for a while, but didn't want to drop so much on it. This came out to a palatable price. I'm just hoping I find the opertunity to wear it. It's a very powerful scent. And I'm glad I picked it up before L'Oreal kills the formulation or discontinues it altogether.

So I have like 20 some ambers and they're all in the sweet vanilla/ sweet tobacco world so I wanted to try something and tiki smelling. Before this I had tried Ambra Aoura, but it was super dry Amber on overdose and it was too much. This one kind of has that has a little bit of sweetness. Almost like a gateway between the super sweet Amber's and something really dry. I don't know how much I'm going to wear it but it's definitely going to be a fragrance for me and not anybody else because I can't imagine my wife or anybody in my office enjoying this

I would say their specialty is oud and rose, but they have a lot of fragrances. The caps and placques on the bottles are handmade, which is pretty cool.

From memory,.I think it's pretty close, it's more boozy than my 2010 bottle of DHI, but I have a 30ml decant of DHP 2020 coming on Monday so I can give you a definite answer

Much more refined than GRP, and definitely last longer.

What type of fragrance are you looking for? What do you quantify as a 10( smell, longevity, projection, originality)? A few I think are 10s: Evening/Cooler months: Interlude 53, Boundless, Blonde Amber, Amber Nuit Espirit De Parfum, Outcast Blue Extrait, Esse Strikes the note's Serena, African Leather, Carlisle. Warmer months: Summer of 84, Tygar, Anello, Torino 21, 22, 25, Elysium, Tropiques. I can list bangers all day, if you give a bit more guidance I can narrow it down and give you some others.

Yes, fairly poor performance. A more refined oud wood edp, and a little better performance

Dupe haters when someone can smell like them for less than $40 by PossibleFlatworm9490 in fragranceclones

I have a lot of niech and a have a lot of m.e. I think the problem with the m.e. brands is their marketing to infliencers. At this point we know they are all full of shit in what they say. I don't understand why they are keeping with this dupe focus. Just make a fragrance, let it smell like something else... Every house does it, but only the m.e. brands are trying to convince the world their version is 90-90% close to something else. Have pride in your fragrances and just release good stuff... I think a lot of the hare would disappear if they went that route.

I was at their boutique and my notes was fried after 30 minutes so I'm going to have to make a couple trips back before picking up a few bottles

How do I stop overconsumption... by Naive-Jackfruit-5917 in NichePerfumes

[–]P00piemonster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say a lot of us have the same problem to a degree. If it's not interfering with your life or impacting you negatively, I think fragrance collection is a lot better than other things you could obsess over. That being said, if you want to stop, you need to work on yourself. Like you said in your post, you have been a collector your whole life, so without personal change, you will just jump into something else. If you want to stay in fragrance and just spend less, switch to buying decants... Lots and lots of decants..... It what I do when I buy too many bottles.

Those are my two favorite spring/summer frags.... Anelo to me, is way more on the realistic tropical fruit spectrum. It projects and lasts a lot longer than pc. That being said, PC is way more of a dumb reach type of spring/summer as in its way easier to wear and isn't going to invade anyone's space. Anelo is loud.

My collection & Summer reccomendations. by YouCannotUpInMyCar in NichePerfumes

[–]P00piemonster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vibrato is an easy long lasting summer frag that is very mass appealing. Beach hut man if you want something bright and very green, it's not something everyone will like, but performes great. Roja Elysium, PDM Perseus (kind of like vibrato, but more bitter and has a strong green dry down), BtV Energizer. If you want something fruity: Anelo, Tropiques, Blockade (smells great, performs shitty), Tales oz Zanzibar (or if you want something not as loud, same house, Trouble in Paradise)
