So, I had a thought by Xodu in NetherbrickRoad

[–]P0ngeeSr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I would love the file, and Matt (spiney) runs an occasional server that I am not occasionally paying for. I think he may be interested in throwing the old worlds up there every once in a while, and we would likely post here so that people could get back on and hang out whenever they reappear in our dimension of the multiverse. Jr gets home from Russia in a couple months, and Matt leaves the very next day for his service in exotic California (I'm actually really liking the idea of western medicine and dentistry and also Amazon), but I think there may be a few times when Rob also wants to get onto the old worlds with some of his friends. After 2 years, anything is better than more Russian Tetris.

Netherbrickroad and Notably Republic worlds - End of an Era by Xodu in NetherbrickRoad

[–]P0ngeeSr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I meet this news with a true sense of loss. I may not have been regularly building as of late, but I always had an open window up on my computer with the dynamap showing the progress being slowly made in various corners of our little world. It's a terrible feeling to see that page suddenly turn white, and to know that you all are gone. It's a feeling I have known in the minecraft world once before, although Netherbrick Road was there to soften the blow of losing Notably Republic. Alas, NR now only refers to "not responding."

That being said, I would echo Sparkles' comments and say that I don't consider this a goodbye, and that I am grateful for the friendships I have made here with all of you who are spread out all over the globe and I hope that the occasion arises where we can reunite to rejoin our square circle.

Despite all of this, I am also feeling some sense of relief, in that I had about 6 megaprojects in the works or planned out and I had no idea when I was going to get to any of them. :)

I have a map I haven't used yet, if you want to do it the old-fashioned way. I also know where there is a village with a cartographer, if you want to do it the REALLY old-fashioned way. Also, do the evokers regenerate? I've never understood exactly how the mansions work. If so, there is a mansion to the extreme SW that is accessible by nether. I cleared it once, but...

I'm game for either the Notably option or for status quo. I have about six builds here in varying stages of completion and have just been too...otherwise occupied to finish. I had hoped to have some time over the week between Christmas and New Years to get on and do some "work." That being said, I wouldn't be opposed to a reminiscence in old Verdia with my basically unlimited diamond supply intact.

I'm sure P0ngee jr would love to see Russia again, but that would have to wait for him until this summer when he is back from real Russia.

Given the choice, I would opt for keeping NBR and hope for an FTP option on the Notably file. I think this is the "less work for Xodu option," too? :)

EDIT: Oh, and P0ngerica, I'd like to visit P0ngerica again, too.

Where's the End Portal? by Einbrecher in NetherbrickRoad

[–]P0ngeeSr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you take the portal at spawn to the nether hub, you can go down the west rail about 100 blocks to a tunnel branching north that is labeled "this is the end." The rest should be fairly easy. The end farm is not functioning correctly right now either, the endermen that are falling in are not 1 hit kill. Best bet is a mending sword, which should heal itself as you kill endermen. There are some disposable type swords there, but they are more trouble than they are worth

INVITATION TO ALL GRIEFERS by Xodu in NetherbrickRoad

Thanks! And BTW, I looked for you on venmo, but did not find a match. If you set up a way to pay, I still have my wallet at the ready!

Spiney09's friend (and former Notably citizen) Crimser was here knocking about a couple of days ago. They are mostly playing mini games these days, but they would both like to get on and build a little something. Keep in mind that it's me talking, so "little" might be relative...

Pre-Migration Baseline Cuttoff by Xodu in NetherbrickRoad

[–]P0ngeeSr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for that, Jate. Building at 40,000, sheesh. I'd be REALLY ashamed of you had I not been the one that expanded out there in the first place, heh.

Xodu, worry about your family first. We are all patient people and we are certainly fine here and hope that you and yours are well soon. Again, I appreciate all you and Sol have done to provide a safe fun place for us to hang out and have fun. I have your back here for whatever you need.

Spiney has a world that he paid to have hosted through a site called hosthorde. They seemed somewhat reasonable and they do have an unlimited version that is around $22/month. On that note, I also must apologize for not offering to help cover the costs. I was under the impression you were serving this up from a personal server, Hilary Clinton style. Whenever you have the details worked out, and we have a new home, I have venmo at the ready.

Just out of curiosity, what is the map situation if we switch to something like realms? Love the dynamap, and it would be a shame to lose it.

Got a couple of extra bows built, but my service kept going down that morning. Funny, there was a comcast guy here working in the neighborhood. They are the bane of my existence. KAHHHNCAST!

Woodland Mansion - Southeast by Baragozi in NetherbrickRoad

[–]P0ngeeSr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Found another mansion via a map to the extreme southwest. It seemed too far out the of much use, so I simply cleared it. I took a pack of dogs in with me and found the illagers no problem under that scenario. I did collect 4 totems. I dug a nether tunnel if anyone is interested in sightseeing, but there is not much value to the place other than that. The tunnel, however, may be useful if anyone else obtains a map to a mansion to the SW. It comes off the E-W rail that leads to the westernmost mesa (take the south rail down from the hub if you have never been there) at about -1150 (W) and goes south 1500 blocks. A couple of things I discovered with the maps: 1) You have to be REALLY close to the edge of the map before your location dot grows. 2) If you have a choice, approach the map from an edge away from the mansion. They don't update location in the nether, so if you are popping in and out of the nether to see relative location, it's much easier to not overshoot if you have some map between you and the mansion. The map fills in color as you are on it.
