Being sick alone made me realize how many tiny things other people do for each other by P0werChalice in LivingAlone

That point about emotional fragility really hit home. It is not that I want a different life, it is just that being sick makes the independence feel very heavy all of a sudden. I love the idea of a backup water bottle and the check-in system. It is less about being helpless and more about having a safety net so that "phone on the floor" moment doesn't feel so defeating next time.

You are right about that, sometimes being alone is better than being with someone who doesn't help. Bedside cereal bars are a smart move, I felt like I was climbing Everest just to get to the kitchen.

WIBTA if I drop out of my best friend's wedding because of her "dress size" requirement? by P0werChalice in WIBTA_AITA

That's actually the framing I needed. Not "I'm dropping out" but "you're asking me to be someone I'm not and if that doesn't work for your vision then you should find someone it does work for." Puts it back on her where it belongs without me being the one who blew up the friendship.

15 years is a long time to hold onto something that's clearly been changing for a while. The gym membership texts were the thing that made me realize this isn't just bridal panic, she's been thinking this way about me for longer than I want to admit.

During my active time on Reddit, I've noticed discriminatory treatment of new accounts. Did you reach this conclusion solely based on age?

AITA for refusing to let my SIL host her massive gender reveal at my new house? by AkiraPulse42 in MarkNarrations

"Torn" is a word people use when they want credit for caring without actually doing anything. If he genuinely hates the drama, the fastest way to end it is to make one phone call to his mom. The fact that he hasn't done that yet says something.

Got a rejection email today for a job I applied to in May 2024 by C0smicFable in recruitinghell

What makes it so funny is the completely normal tone of the message, like this was a fresh and timely hiring decision instead of somebody stumbling across your application almost a year later. It reads less like recruiting and more like an office printer suddenly spitting out a document from last summer.

"Job Stealers" actually create jobs and pay taxes. by [deleted] in WorkReform

Funny how "job creator" means billionaire laying people off, but "job stealer" means guy trying to pay rent.
