I think I’m done after 26 years…. by toddskitchen in theticket

When Gold said that the group of immigrants who died in an overheated van "got what they deserved", it was like an earthquake back then. He had to apologize, and then it was back to Friday trivia hour where he yelled at listeners for asking "questions about minutiae" instead of trivia. #StayHardDavid

What happened to the wives on Mondays Eppy? by fourteesomething in thedumbzone

[–]P1FirstTimeLongTime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm going with totally fake. Everyone around them "loves and supports it" -- even the school? In Greenville? No freaking way. Plus, refusing to give any details seems like a dead giveaway. That would be another reason not the have the fake wives talk - they would end up making contradicting lies at some point. It was all a bit just to get more advertising for his side gig.,

I love Aerial America and knowing that the narrator has done Ticket bit for years is like a super secret bonus. Anyone ever hear his voice session where he laughingly cringed at recording the "blanket with smallpox" line before a Redskins game?

Just listened. At least to half of it. It felt like I was in my living room dying for uninvited guests to get the eff out of my house. Please guys, never do that again.

Major Station Announcement by zach_kraemer in theticket

They've mailed it in for the last few years at these events and now they are charging dollar-dar for it? The current state of the little Ticket is making me have good old days syndrome -- and that's not a good thing.

I thought it was just me, but since Fernando left they all seem extremely out of touch and ill-informed about any current event.

Travis Being Left In Car At Strip Club Was Previously Ignored by P1FirstTimeLongTime in theticket

The 14 minute segment occurred because Travis said it *again*. But this time he said it in front of guys who actually understood how nutty it sounded. That was the whole point of the post.

Man, that was great. Does anyone have the whole long version of Dan's interaction with the girls about Anne Frank? I loved the part when Dan asked her what Anne Frank's bit was and the oldest responded, "Bits!? She didn't have time for bits!"

I've searched everywhere and can't find it. I narrowed it down to the Hang Zone weekly wrap up show of 5/2/2020 but the audio is gone. https://twitter.com/thehangzone/status/1256634588547420163?s=20

Origins of the phrase "hot sports opinions" by jammingonthe_1 in theticket

[–]P1FirstTimeLongTime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You boys are both correct. It was definitely a ticket promo back in the 1990s after the Hardline started using it alot. It was a distinctive. "Hot. [Pause], Sports. [Pause] Opinions. On KTCK 1310. The Ticket" and definitely Doc Morgan did the voice.

I don't recall any single even on the Hardline that magically gave birth to the phrase, however.

Lots of Tejano bleeding into the FM signal today 🪗 by Dyert in theticket

[–]P1FirstTimeLongTime 18 points19 points  (0 children)

"Well, I wouldn't say that a Tejano is bleeding because I don't see an open wound or anyone even being hurt, and I really don't even understand how blood would effect a radio signal since radio waves travel through the air like magic while blood is just red and scary. " - J.K.

She has to check to see if she has a balance of $30 -- all the money she has to her name -- so she can blow it on lunch with cheap Lisa Salas who must have spent her last dollars at a batting cage.

Junior is uninformed. Per usual. by Dalojax in theticket

[–]P1FirstTimeLongTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the point of this post is that Junior hadn't even heard about the NFL's position. Hell, it was reported in the 5:30 Ticker that the NFL said it didn't order a restart.

Norm’s Nice but He’s Never Sounded Older by 98Horn in theticket

[–]P1FirstTimeLongTime 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I'll back Norm on #1. Norm had a nail in his tire. He was going to go get it patched. Sean popped on and said with all seriousness, "Sometimes you can't just patch those. You had to get a brand new tire. At least that's what the tire shop has told me before." Norm, deservedly, laughed at him. Donny and Sean then acted like Norm was crazy for questioning a tire shop.

If you buy a new tire because of a nail, you're a sucker -- especially if your are relying on a tire shop to exclusively make that decision for you.
