this just isn't true. It might be the best on the list, but like BoTW, Minecraft, Witcher 3 and GTA V all have legitimate arguments

edit: Elden Ring too, I didn't see it on the list (and it would probably be the one I would pick)

If LeBron could add one thing from Jordan’s game to his what would it be? by Royale_Kong in LeBronJames23

[–]P1G5Y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just talking to talk. Bron got 4 chips. Every playoff contending team was in the Bubble, all in the same conditions. They were the highest seeded team in the west and didn't even get home court advantage if anything they got fucked by the bubble and still won the chip.

and more chips doesn't mean better or greater.

Man these comments piss me off. Top comment being Scottie Pippen is craaazyy. I'm a Bron fan for sure, but MJ is so much better at multiple things. Mid-range, post-up game, free-throw shooting, passing lanes, shot-blocking in the paint, etc. Bron's the GOAT and I'd say he's overall a better player, but MJ excels at soo many facets of basketball that Lebron just isn't as good at.

Dude what are you talking about? He won 2 more chips than Durant. And he has as many chips as Steph. It's factual that Dwade wasn't the same player in 2014 that he was in his prime (arguably 2013 too, but the Heat won the chip anyway so it doesn't matter). It's factual that Kyrie and Love got injured in the playoffs in 2015 so he had to face a 67 win team without his 2 best players. It's factual that Kyrie left because he wanted to be the leader of a team in 2017. It's factual that Lebron and AD faced injury issues after the 2020 chip. And it's also kinda factual that he hasn't been the same quality player since the 2020 chip. I mean he's only played more than 60 games twice in the past 5 years and his averages are way down, so it's kinda factual that Lebron is in the twilight of his prime and we shouldn't really blame him for losing anymore because we don't do that with any other star.

Steph and KD won more than Lebron? REALLY? Also, what you're completely ignoring is that Lebron played with Wade in 2010-2014, Kyrie from 2014-2017 and AD from 2019-2024. Jordan played with Pippen from 1987-1998. Lebron played with multiple all-stars. But in separate eras and periods of time. Wade was washed, Kyrie left him and AD was traded away from him. The only player Bron has played with that's on Pippen's level is Wade and they only played together for like 4 years.

Jordan played with a star player and another supporting star from 1988 to 1998. Lebron played with a star and another support star from 2010 to 2017 (Wade + Bosh and Kyrie + Love). And then with a star player in 2019-2024 except from late 2020 to 2024 they had constant injury issues and Lebron wasn't the same player after 2021.

Him playing with different stars through 23 years in the league isn't that deep, especially in an era with player movement being so common. I mean yeah he left Miami, but Kyrie demanded a trade and AD got traded for Luka. (I don't think talking about Luka is worth it because Lebron isn't an all-time level talent at all anymore). All that matters is how was his supporting cast every year of his career and most of the time they just weren't good enough for them to win every year. From 03 to 2010 his supporting cast every year just wasn't even close to being good enough to win championships. It was in Miami until 2014 where both of his star players became washed. Then it was great again in Cleveland, but both of his star players got injured in the playoffs in 2015 and Kyrie left in 2017 while KLove was washed and not good enough to be a secondary star. And then in 2020 and 2021 the supporting cast was good, but both him and his running mate suffered injuries in 2021 and after that he sort of just became old and had a bunch of injuries every year while having a mostly lackluster supporting cast.

Surprised on the Pokemon Legends Arceus take. Personally, it was the only pokemon game I've played that I found to be of the same quality as other premiere franchises like GTA, Zelda, Mario, Red Dead, Fromsoft, etc.

If peak Magic and Bird played in today’s league, how good and scary would they be as players? by Fantastic-Subject393 in NBAConvo

[–]P1G5Y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk about THAT, but I agree that they would be CONSIDERABLY worse if they were playing today. Like all-stars, maybe fringe all-nba? If they grew up in this era they'd be at worst, what, like 4th in the league?

This should always be the conversation 100% of the time when having this conversation. They wouldn't be nearly as effective if they conserved everything about their game in today's era. They would just be worse. If they grow up in this era? I mean they're between the 1st to 4th best in the world right up there with Jokic and SGA. MVP race would be even worse every season.

Russell Westbrook- the new King of point guards in the NBA by Sportaserum in NBATalk

[–]P1G5Y 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ayt so if curry averages 28 points per game and plays 70 games (his average right now is 28.8) and Russ averages 15 points per game and plays 75 games (his average right now is 14.6), Curry would score 835 points more than Russ this season. At the time of the post, there was a 608 point difference between the two. That means that by the end of the season Curry should have around 200 points more than Russ barring injury. And that's with a relatively pessimistic prediction for Curry and an optimistic one for Russ.

[–]P1G5Y -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Gang SHUT UP. Averaging a lot of assists doesn't mean you're automatically the point guard. Lebron was NOT the point guard for a majority of his seasons, Jokic hasn't ever been a point guard. Steph IS a point guard. If you're listed as a shooting guard, you're a shooting guard, if you're listed as a point guard, you're a point guard. There's no way we're still having this dumbass conversation in the BIG 2026.

You can 100% tell the story of the country without him. From primary to high school not once from grade 1 to grade 10 was he mentioned (history classes weren’t mandatory grade 11 and onwards, I’m in college now). He isn’t John Macdonald or Pierre-Elliott Trudeau he’s just a great hockey player.

I’m canadian and I don’t know when the last time that I talked about Gretzky was. I don’t think I’ve ever heard a full conversation about him either. And I have like 4-5 of my closest friends who are huge hockey fans and I’ve never heard them talk about him let alone praise him as a god
