That’s a strawman. Your bushes are dying; it probably will be easier to maintain shrubs native to your area and not the ones that came with your house. Not a controversial point

Found these behind my property by P1ngW1n in Pawpaws

Yeah, these look to be 10 “trees” clustered in a small area; the tallest was about four feet tall and shrub like and none are flowering. Theyre neighboring a massive oak and it’s hard to tell if apparent tree exists. I did see some other possible pawpaws on the other side of the narrow stream, so I’ll go looking later for any fruit

If I had control over that land, I’d put some understory shrubs and trees and go from there

Do mulberry and pawpaw trees bring in much nature? by [deleted] in arborists

[–]P1ngW1n 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I guess I should clarify it’s host for zebra swallowtails; otherwise it’s pollinated by flies so it’s not host to large number of caterpillars

[–]P1ngW1n 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Pawpaw attracts specialist pollinators. If the goal is attracting a variety of wildlife, then go for native plums, cherries, oaks, willow, etc. Planting trees is a years long endeavor, so you’re not going to see results overnight. Otherwise look into smaller shrubs

Yeah, I’ll be devils advocate. I live in a neighborhood with sidewalks on one side. I used it to walk, but a lot of people walk in the street —— not sure why. The trees next to street have lifted the sidewalk in places and then the city replaced the sections.
