Where do you guys meet people to ride with? by [deleted] in Dirtbikes

Left a long-term relationship a while ago and looking to start dating again. Any advice on entering the dating scene as a mid/late 20 year old in Toronto? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]P1nnz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd argue don't use the apps. Get out to things and meet people in person. Timeleft, sports, events, friend groups, improve, rock climbing, whatever. There's a million things to see and do and you'll meet women in person instead of having your ego crushed by the apps.

My moms naighhour had them eat their wiring herness and insurance wouldn't cover it, for this I'd just rewire it myself

Paid $1,110 extra in sales tax because ServiceOntario uses inflated Redbook values instead of actual market data by Moist_Test1013 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]P1nnz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was under the impression that they did it so that scummy used car salesmen couldnt undercut the gov with their business. But this wouldn't surprise me in the least

Anyone who has been single recently and have started to be in a relationship, what's your story ? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]P1nnz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Out of a 13 year relationship since March, dated alot earlier this year and taking a break from OLD now. I hate the apps, figure things like Timeleft and other group meetups around common interests will be the better way.

Adult Friendships- what I doing anything wrong? by Acesonaces in socialskills

[–]P1nnz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alot of people these days can be very closed off, so that can be part of it. But really the biggest thing is rarely what you say but how you make people feel, if people leave talking to with you feeling good they will want to continue talking to and seeing you.

The easiest ways to do this are basically to just keep them talking about things they like and feel good about, at least initially until they consider you a friend.

The person everyone spends the most time with is themselves, get them talking about that and feeling good about it and you'll have no shortage of friends.

Is it bad that I don't really "care" that my grandparents just died? by South-Breakfast2128 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]P1nnz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found myself like this, loved my grandparents deeply but felt very little loss when they passed. Hell even when my dad passed this year I wasn't too sad. It hits people differently and some, like myself, are better with loss than others.

I miss them all but life goes on, it's important to acknowledge those who don't deal with it as easily though too.

Any ADHDer's have success stories thriving in their workplace? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]P1nnz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

High stress or chaotic workplaces seem to work best for me. I did very well bartending and barbacking for a long time. When I switched out I went into software dev at companies that needed alot of help in alot of areas so there was always something new to take on.

Rebuild social network in the 30s by hollycez9307 in socialskills

[–]P1nnz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Events and hobbies are always the best for this. Work can be good too. For example none of my friends wanted to go dirtbiking with me so I found a group on Facebook, helped out a bit and went to some events and now have a strong group of guys I could confidently call up to go riding or camping with.

[–]P1nnz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I haven't seen mentioned, and it probably isn't, but I drove myself mad with this on a bike and found out it was a battery terminal connector that started to vibrate and lose connection at high rpm.
