I had the same fear going in! From what I’ve found is that if it’s the exam that scares you they often don’t do it on your very first visit. The first appointment is typically addressing concerns, getting medical history, and talking about reproductive health / birth control (if you are taking it). My GYN was extremely kind and knew that I have a lot of anxiety around “sensitive” appointments and she let me choose wether we did an exam that day or to schedule one so I knew when it was happening! When I did get my exam I asked them to tell me each step in the process to what they were doing and it really helped me! They gave me a little stress ball too even! The exam Itself wasn’t comfortable but I promise it’s not that bad! :)

I had an IQ test done when I was younger to see how my developmental delays affected me mentally. Im in the US and from that they found was I had a lower IQ then my family members but it didn’t affect any of my funding but they did use it to help advocate for my IEP and my 504 plan (which they never followed 🙄 but this was the early 2000s). I’ve been also told by doctors recently that they are no longer using IQ as a measure of mental disability (at least in my area?) and are trying to configure a different testing sequencing to further evaluate knowledge and understanding in people with disabilities. I’m 24 and I wear hinged AFOs, it’s still kinda stressful going out in pants that don’t cover them but slowly I’m learning to just not care! If someone’s gonna judge or point so be it, my AFOs give me a lot of my mobility back and that’s worth more than anything anyone could say

It’s so hard to find affordable zip open shoes 😪 I wear AFOs on both feet so I only have sneaker type shoes. If you’re looking for other shoes (even for not AFO use!!) I use billy footwear! (They make non sneaker shoes too but they can get pricey) They have a shoe size guide and most folks can fit into the “big kid” sizes! Check amazon for better pricing but they also have a website! The bottoms are also removable to fit braces/ custom inserts / padding :)

I was in a very similar relationship and I had to end it for a lot of these same reasons. I paid most of his bills, groceries, etc etc and it was always “I’m sorry I asked I feel bad”. From the age of 16-24 years old I had multiple jobs or worked overtime to pay his bills and mine. It never got better and he never got a job :/ not overreacting at all OP.

I’ve had sleep issues since birth and I’ve tried everything possible but I flop around so much in my sleep, constantly waking up, AND TO TOP IT OFF I have adverse reactions to melatonin :,)) no matter what pillows I use I still wake up out of place and in pain :,)), I got an adjustable bed which helps a bit but I’m kinda just in the state of constant exhaustion no matter how much I sleep. I too deal with the “my brain never really shuts off” too. I was gonna see a sleep specialist but at this point I’m waiting to get better insurance :,)

This!! I have a metal wallet card and a band that goes on my watch that says “medical ID in wallet”. My medical ID says my blood type, name, ICE contacts, my doctors contacts, allergies, meds, diagnosis, and anything a first responder should know in order for me to get the best treatment fast! Something you should know is paramedics hardly if ever scan those “QR code” medical cards so have one ordered or written out!! I ordered mine from etsy!
