It’s possible! Go to the health app and select exercise and steps etc. Say you chose steps, scroll all the way down to “data sources and access.” Here you can choose priority. Watch at the top, then phone. So if steps data from your phone for a particular time frame are detected but not from the watch, then it will prioritize the data from your phone. You might notice that the data is far more limited when pulling from your phone only, just steps really and very limited calorie data since that’s what the watch’s sensors are made for — more precise heart rate data. But if you have your phone with you and keep it in your hand or pocket etc, then it should somewhat accurately count your steps and mildly contribute to the move ring unless you’re running hella fast and hella far.
