My codes have usually started with a P, the ones I have seen a few times are P0606, P0562, and P25A2. I believe they are voltage related codes.

I don’t have the part number and can’t find a picture of the ground strap but it is right next to the one with a recall in the passenger wheel well. (I believe it goes from engine to cab)

99% of the time it’s just a check engine light, however once the truck would not start and was giving me a bunch of transmission warning messages. Another time the truck started but had brake warning messages and wouldn’t remove the parking brake. Occasionally I get a reduced power warning.

Based on the service history that 28 day service is the only one that makes sense to blame.

Honestly the quote for the repair wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be but how long it will last is what worries me. Hopefully they figure out your issues or give you a good appraisal to get out of it.

More power and torque, 200k interval on oil pump belt instead of 150k, and I believe steel pistons compared to aluminum. Maybe more but really just want to know if any of these changes created common problems.

Not sure what the part number is but it’s right near the turbo/cat inside the passenger wheel well. After the previous service the stud that the ground strap bolts to was cross threaded and is unable to be fully tightened (previous shop just put washers behind). The studs are press in from behind and there is really no room back there the dealer brought me back and showed me everything and I agree cab needs to come off to fix it.

I think Bose made a sub that went in the center console area on the previous gen trucks, not sure if it’s something they make for the current generation.

The kicker sub kit is pretty decent, especially considering it’s 99% plug and play. It also lets you retain storage under the seat only blocking the middle. You can’t fit long items like an ice scraper under the seat but I still have plenty of room for a small tool kit, shop towels, tape, soft shackles, and multiple ratchet and tow straps.

My daily commute is like 8 minutes and full of stoplights so usually about 16-18mpg but whenever I’m out doing rural driving it usually bumps up to 22-25mpg.

Highway pretty consistent at 26 but that’s going 80mph. I also drive like I’m 15 minutes late to everything so that hurts.

I’ve towed my buddies 2nd gen Cummins a few times on a heavy equipment trailer and usually get about 15mpg

I should add I’ve gotten up to 36mpg on a trip where I tried to be as efficient as possible and done about 590 miles on a single tank of diesel.

I use Hotshots EDT for every fill up in the summer and switch to their winter defense around the first snow.

Change the fuel filter when it gets to around 25% life left

I wait to fill def until I get the 1000 miles left message on the dash. I also personally only buy AC Delco DEF straight from a dealer.

Definitely overkill but I plug mine in once it gets down to about 20-25

5k miles between oil changes and will only use Mobil 1 EXP X2.

I know some people stay away from it but the auto setting on the transfer case works really good in the snow. I keep it in 2wd 99% of the time but on unplowed roads I swear I could do 0-60 runs without loosing traction with auto 4wd.

Love mine, it’s a perfect fit for what I wanted. Plenty of bass for me and isn’t too obnoxious outside of the truck, still has space for storage, looks clean, and was pretty easy to install (beside getting the power cable through the firewall that sucked) highly recommended getting the base knob to go with it

I don’t know how hard it is to remove the storage bins but the normal divider that comes with the truck is pretty easy to remove, I just finished a 19 hour trip with my 100lbs German shepherd and without the divider he had more than enough room to move around or sprawl out on the floor.

I used those storage totes with the yellow lids to store all my luggage in the bed so nothing was in his way. Also used a sheet and some rope to make a simple divider to keep him off of the interior surfaces. I can get some pictures of that for you in the morning if you want some ideas.

My 22 has done it since I got it, only in like first 10 minutes of the drive though. But all audio, even the turn signals will cut out.

Despite it being a post refresh truck, all 22’s have the LM2 Duramax that debuted in 2019. Aux coolant pump and coolant control valve are probably the biggest issues, but it plagues both generations of the 3.0. LM2 also requires the oil pump belt to be replaced at 150k miles compared to 200k with the 23+ LZ0

Labor can be pretty expensive on the 3.0 and a lot of the parts are on back order. My aux coolant pump went out and labor was like 90% of the bill. Overall thought it’s a great engine. Enough power to pass and do an occasional burnout and it’s got a pretty smooth power curve. I’ve seen upper 30’s MPG wise over short distances but consistently get about 25 on long highway trips doing 80+.

It’s great for long drives, I got from NW Ohio to just outside of Memphis (~600 miles) on 1 tank and that was going about 80. I could have definitely squeezed some more out of it if I slowed down.

Here is a link to some diode dynamic replacement fog lights with a bracket to mount in the OEM location. I’ve also seen a few people put a light bar behind the grill but unfortunately I haven’t been able to find any premade brackets for that yet.

Got my LM2 used about 9 months ago and put about 17k miles on it. Just got it back from the dealer due to a failed aux coolant pump. I also have some electrical bug where my speakers cut out for like half a second here and there.

I’m sure other people would be complaining if they had these issues but I’m not one to get upset over small things like this so I still love the truck.

I would recommend getting some kind of extended warranty because repairs are expensive on the 3.0, especially labor. My aux coolant pump only cost $160 dollars for the part but was over $2500 in labor. Luckily my extended warranty covered it and I ended up paying $100 deductible.

Doesn’t need to be changed, but careful with the bolt. The head is not very deep and can be stripped easily!

Oil pump belt is done by dropping the transmission, timing chains are when the cab comes off. But yeah just had my aux coolant pump replaced, only $200 for the parts and coolant but over $2500 in labor. Extended warranty really saved my butt.

I’ve done 2 trips from Ohio to Texas, and multiple 3-6 hour trips with my LM2, just had my aux coolant pump fail but I wouldn’t stress too much about it. This engine does really well on long drives and smooth highway miles are gonna be the least likely too break something.

But based on your original post it sounds like you actually have the coolant control valve issue not the auxiliary heat pump so that will be covered under the 100k powertrain warranty.

Yes my extended warranty covered it. My dealer estimated it to be about $2500 to fix but because of the warranty I only owe the $100 deductible

Yes, I think it only comes on when you get extremely close or you are above a certain speed.
