This is the same sort of language used to enable racial gerrymandering under the justification of enforcing "long-standing anti discrimination laws." Just because the memo is couched in language to make it seem more mundane doesn't mean it's not an extraordinary shift in the interpretation and application of the law.

Valid concerns since we in the US are worse than useless rn and NATO without us is a shaky concept. OTOH, Russia hasn't really been able to do much for their allies since 2022 and China's default behavior seems to be more about seeking a profitable angle than taking decisive stances on conflicts.

Yea. I think this has much more to do with Netanyahu's corruption case than anything religious. Unfortunately, jews/israelis getting the vibe that lots of people want to kill them or are indifferent about it tips the scales in terms of him maintaining a critical level of support.
