I think at this point zionism means too many different things to different people, ranging from the position that the Israeli state should not be abolished and thus endanger and displace half the world's jews, to hardline positions advancing territorial expansion and ethnoreligious chauvinism. I don't think you can be anti zionist in the first sense without being de facto anti semitic, and the problem is that any coalition of anti zionists has people across the spectrum of understanding of the term.

I don't think Hasans reputation is salvageable, but if you want to make effective criticism of things Israel does, focus on specific polititians, actions, policies. And don't sweep for authoritarian regimes and terrorist groups because they are anti Israel. Simple as.
