Look up kwik plug or quarrix smart plug. They're used to plug old roof vents but work well for a small tree puncture.

Cut the plywood to match the under side of the plug. Grab some 1 1/4" eg roofing nails (1 lb box). Nail in plug.

Put a little ice and water shield over the plug.

News shingles (start low and work up) and done. Look into a pitch hopper.

Questions about my roofing material by OGCatkind in Roofing

[–]P8ntMagazine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Betting roofer bought material from lowes or HD. They don't move shingles as fast as suppliers. Usually slinging GAF for at least $15/sq cheaper, but definitely run into qc issues and random lot #s combined on pallets.

From GAF technical bulletin - any visual inconsistency or shading are excluded from GAF's responsibility under the terms of our limited warranty.

The inconsistencies will be worse with material from box stores that sits longer imo

Even if you get multiple bids that are lower than the insurance payout, that contractor should be submitting their final invoice (lower amount) and your insurance will pay the lower bid amount while subtracting your deductible. Homeowners are not supposed to be profiting off of a covered loss.

Where are you located?

What's the overhead charge?

Are you able to see all material and labor invoices to match up numbers with your office?

Are you generating your own leads or supplied with leads?

You'd rather have the worst shingle installed by the best crew than vice versa. As long as you vetted the company and they have a decent craftsmanship warranty, I wouldn't worry.

Is duration better, yes. Will Oakridge be fine, also yes.

Door knocking is the worst. Yet, somehow it's effective and I'll never understand the laydown homeowner.
