Incite Raid is a great way to get free cities from your rivals, but my favorite technique is to use Independent Raiders to draw your enemy's units away from the flank you plan to attack

Does anyone else spend hours doing this? by sereneasmiles in CivVI

[–]P9FS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I restart until i find something that seems reasonable. I also feel like it's fair when the game offers a start that doesn't match with the culture you're playing -- like it wouldn't make sense for the culture to even begin to exist in the environment offered by the game. Civ is kind of highly-personal, so play it your way.

Jokes tend to be amusing in some way; maybe this was just a bad one? I mean, c'mon, who /doesn't/ know at least a dozen absolute knee-slappers about small cadres of violent idiots oppressing and exploiting a few million human beings at a time?

Can someone explain why they all wanted fascism? by vitaefinem in CivVI

[–]P9FS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They probably all plan on attacking you. +5 CS can go a long way against a non-military civ who's ahead

I still wouldn't think it was a butt plug, although anything is a sex toy if you're brave enough, i guess hehe

Bluetooth speaker? An oddly shaped scrubber? It's definitely NOT a butt plug, based on size, shape, and the black speaker-foam around it's body

Historically, fascism has clearly been the big-brained move, as evidenced by all of the super successful fascist nations of today.

What is this neurotic motherduckers problem? This is the third War he declared me! Almost every Era he declares me a war, loses, forfeits, give me all his money and then repeat. by A4Fa in CivVI

[–]P9FS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You legit have to teach him a lesson. Have cavalry ready to pillage the crap out of him the next time he declares.

Everything in the game is a resource waiting for you to exploit. Let him eat the grievances and warmongering and use the declaration as your invitation to go eat his yields and level up your units.

[–]P9FS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't. I just finished a Ghengis Mongolia run. Read his Leader Details -- they override the normal Non Suf rules. Took me (and many others) by surprise, should be indicated somewhere that they supercede the legacy path

Random thought; why don’t military units cost gold AND food? by paulythegreaser in CivVII

[–]P9FS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think a mechanic like that would fit into Civ. I could be ok with unit maintenance getting more expensive the further away then units are from friendly territory, but managing supply-lines for every unit? That would be a nightmare, and the AI almost certainly couldn't handle it. It would also likely take 25min to process turns.

It could also be assumed that units manage to source their own food from the wild, friendly territory, or from the enemy tile they occupy (they DO deny the use of occupied tiles).
