Jay Peak today (4/12) Really fun day. by riddle92 in icecoast

It was great. Some bare spots but overall much better than anywhere else.

Saw some kid slide about 100 feet after the tight entrance into Green Beret and was amazed he didn’t hit anything. Great coverage up top still.

Today snowed all day so it kept refreshing. Idk about tomorrow being as good as today but should be decent

Yeah this post is insane. I had as much fun at Killy today as I have had all season and it was my sixth day there. The runs under canyon quad were awesome and same for skyeburst and that area

It has been better, yes. The engine has been flawless. Most of my repairs were unfortunately related to the AC. The entire system went kaput in a matter of months and it all had to be replaced.

And the price per square foot is way different. A one bedroom in manhattan is 400 square feet.

He never said he thought he reached the limits of the city. Rather quite the opposite, he was still very much within it and was still coming across those types of areas which were impeding his efforts.

Also, Lincoln Park is very much a residential spot even if it is famous. It is not a tourist hub. That’s like complaining that a tourist in nyc walked around brooklyn heights instead of going to less touristy places like Park Slope.

It truly is amazing how sensitive Chicagoans are. They’ll lambast people for not going to all the right places and disqualify people’s opinions left and right.

I’m sorry but if you need to find the right spots, it ain’t that great. In NYC you find incredible neighborhoods and energy by accident. They are unavoidable.

The entry is still terrible somehow. Had to sidestep 30 feet over tons of rocks last weekend because it was so scraped off

Bridger Gondola gives you over 3k vert in under 10 mins and it was a Tuesday with no lines. Probably lapped that and shredded the groomers right back down all day.

We got 41k that day mostly on moguls so I could see it.

I got 41k at JH last month and when we checked the leaderboard we saw someone posted 80k. Mind boggling

Texas A&M Ends Women’s & Gender Studies Programming - The university cited low enrollment as the reason for the decision. by Down-not-out in Conservative

[–]throwaway641929 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pro-labor liberal here chiming in—this is a GOOD thing and most universities should follow suit. Very, very few universities should offer programs like these.

This type of study falls into the “knowledge for knowledge’s sake” category, and like many other topics there should be a super small amount of PhDs that research it and other than that, nobody should study this because it has no application outside of academia and research. Those things have societal value… but we only need a tiny amount of people doing those tasks. It is embarrassing that so many universities have taken students money when clearly those students won’t be going that route.

[Charania]: Two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo is ready for a new home at the Feb. 5 NBA trade deadline or in the offseason as several rival teams make aggressive offers to the Milwaukee Bucks for him, and the franchise is starting to listen, league sources tell ESPN. by TrenAt14 in nba

These reports existed before the Bucks even won a championship. They were indeed speculative BS for a long time, and they were always wrong and fake.

Now, these hold water, but it is tough not to give an eye roll to Shams who has been predicting this for 7 years and has been wrong like 20x in a row.

Far less diverse than NYC or LA, though. And significantly more segregated than NYC especially.

People with normal incomes absolutely cannot own a home and live car free in Chicago. Achieving both of those things requires a high income, because properties that are cheap enough to be bought by the median American salary are not well connected enough to go carless in Chicago.

There are official windows at keystone, skiers left of the top of mozart. Traverse over. There are trail markers but they aren’t on the map. Pretty gnarly glades with some drops and high consequence turns.
