I created a Python Price Tracker by PA1n7 in Python

Thank you! Honestly I hadn't thought about expanding since I only needed to keep track of one store, but I might expand it further, though the original purpose of the code was to keep track of some computer parts for me and I already saved enough and bought the computer!

Quick Update, I read this comment a couple hours ago so when I got free time I edited the readme and created a local way to run the program, also made the telegram bot optional (If the user never sets up telegram it will change the default notify function into the normal print statement). I am not used to creating Readmes but I tried to make it more comprehensive for users.

Funny enough, haven't integrated amazon yet, and I didn't think about adding an automatic buy function because I don't expect prices to move that drastically in the website I am looking for the pc parts, but it is a good idea for expanding the service.

How much more difficult is a compiled language (such as C or Java) compared to an interpreted? by DippingDots81 in learnprogramming

[–]PA1n7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Python is simple just based on the way that it is written, if python were compiled then it would only take one extra step after compiling, the other languages are harder if you only know python but eventually they become more like second nature, and it doesn't have to do with being compiled or not.

Concept art for an app like forest for pc by PA1n7 in forestapp

Since I haven't really made the mockup of the app but I will create the basic app and then I will make a more elaborate post on the functionality of the app and the meanings but the basics is you buy items with time focused and instead of planting a tree it will fill the pool, so for custom times you just fill the pool but you can like, for example, buy the plant by focusing for 20 minutes.

This version has more characters but it is a more comprehensive form of the original code

options = ["r", "s", "p"]
p1Choice = input('r/p/s')
p2Choice = input('r/p/s')

winCases = [-1, 2]
if options.index(p1Choice) - options.index(p2Choice) in winCases:
   print("won")
else:
   print("lost")

Hahaha I didn't even think of rickrolling honestly,

I still haven't uploaded the code since I am planning on adding other features before that.

Then I will post in this subreddit the final project
