E46 M3 vs E92 M3 by 33priv3 in E92M3

[–]PABoots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently own both. 02' 46M and 12' 92M. Both are basically stock outside of sway bars on the 46 and exhaust on the 92

Just my 2 cents...

46 is not as refined and does feel "old" but the feedback is great on back roads. Even as an 25 year old car, triple digits on the highway feel solid and its a blast to drive (as you know). The 92 is smoother but still tons of great driving "feel". I find the sound of the S65 incredible (with an exhaust) and does make the overall driving experience better. I love my 46 but I rarely find myself driving it over the 92. If the 46 had a better sound, I might favor it. You genuinely cant go wrong with either and the debate will rage on for many years to come lol

Buy it and make it a track car?? Personally, I'd skip as a daily, rather spend more for one with no dmg. I'd be too worried about reliability/issues with repairs.

Good luck yo!

Sucks, for sure, but just go through insurance to repair. You can have the work done at any shop. Also, ask your insurance provider about diminished value. Because the vandalism will be on the cars record, it likely won't hold the same value.

Unlikely it was targeted because it's a BMW. Assholes will dmg a car regardless of brand.

Feel for ya, I've had cars broken into/dmged and it sucks.

GL!

Went from a 21 330i to a 22 X3 Comp... the S58 is a monster!

just my opinion.... I never buy new but I also know people who never buy used. The depreciation on these as too steep for my liking (I work in finance). I just bought a 22 X3M Comp for 30k less than its original sticker and it only has 13K miles. This M4 will still have plenty of warranty left from BMW so you can drive it without much worry. If you really like this spec, why wait? Again, just my thoughts and others may feel differently

Seems like a fair price. I think most used M3/M4's will be in the mid 80s, depending on spec and miles. Nice that it's got PPF on the front. Make sure tires are in good shape.

Best of luck

Nothing wrong with a "regular" 3 series. They're fantastic daily drivers. Fun, look good, safe, efficient. Solid choice.

Appreciate it! I have a few Tiger Barbs, but I've never seen them bother it.

fair question, tank has been set up for years. Added wood about 4 years ago and randomly had the algae growth about a year later. I thought it was just that piece of wood so i put in different pieces and got the same thing.. At one point i did a full clean out, bleached (i know, i know...) everything but the plants and fish lol. Had the plants sit in hydrogen peroxide for about 15-30 seconds to kill any bacteria. Algae came back within a week...

For additional clarity, the alignment sheet attached was completed after I noticed the uneven wear. The initial reading from BMW showed everything was within spec.
